Yes, all those were bad. I'm including the transaction that traded the Lakers' pick for Knight as a part of the move. As I said in my previous post, KT and picks was terrible. This would be my obvious selection as worst move ever had Kerr voluntarily made it. However, it was a forced trade by our owner. Kerr is on record as saying he didn't want to do it. As far as I know, Sarver was not forcing McD's hand, which means McD voluntarily made his decision, thinking it was a good idea. Kidd for Marbury was bad, but at the time Kidd was a public relations nightmare following his domestic violence situation, and at least we received an all-star for an all-star. Majerle's career was winding down by the time we traded him for Hot Rod. He was used as a reserve by Cleveland that year and they did not re-sign him the following season. He then signed with Miami where he was also used as a reserve. Hot Rod at least played 3 seasons for us after the trade. As far as the Thomas and Lakers pick, we gave up young, all-star level talent in Thomas (on a fantastic contract) in exchange for a late round pick. Huge loss in value. Though, we don't know what the Lakers pick will amount to, just the rights to the pick alone is a highly valuable commodity. In my opinion, much more valuable than Knight. Another huge loss. These two considerations combined make this the worst (voluntary) move that I can think of, imo.
Btw, I have enjoyed our engagements as of late. You are an excellent poster.
