It is still 3 weeks until the draft.

Man the NBA offseason is just way too long, the playoffs are too long and the regular season is too crowded with back to backs...

Hopefully they will spread out the regular season more so players get more rest between games and travel and the fans don't have to wait through a 6-7 months (mid april to november) offseason depending on the playoffs.

I couldn't agree more. The NBA season is too long. It needs to be fixed.

It would be interesting to have free agency before the draft.

I think he's on the opposite side. He wants the regular season lengthened (and the offseason shortened) although I guess cutting out games could give you both what you want. Of course, it would pretty much kill the NBA but it's one approach. I don't see how the league can do much and still hold on to their golden goose (TV money).

Totally agree 60 games or so would be better. I said it before I think San Antonio would have won more games than the Warriors this year if they didn't have to keep resting older players to try and keep them fresh. It didn't work though as they still lost to OKC but I felt all year at full strength they were the best team.

But I'm sure it's a money thing.

A guy working on our cooling towers at work has Warriors season tix, he said the finals tickets are 25-30% more than they were last season. He sold his game 7 tickets against OKC so he could afford the finals tickets. All about money.

My thoughts are probably different than Slinslin on the second read. What I want is more action in a shorter amount of time. I don't have any problems spreading out the season by eliminating back-to-back to games. However, I think five game playoff formats could be used before the finals. Also it might be fun to have free agency before the draft. I guess I would like to have less down time except for the off-season.

I'm sure you are right, it's a money thing. The NBA might be better tightening the action whenever possible.

Gonzaga's Domantas Sabonis is working out alone in today's second Suns draft workout.

Well not exactly an endorsement to avoid the competition.

Damian Jones is a real sleeper. Super athletic 6'11 1/2 almost 7'4 wingspan, 37" vertical. Jones is rumored to have strong workouts and nailing interviews.

“Very athletic, very bouncy. Really nice, smart kid, who was an engineering major at Vanderbilt. Very, very athletically talented. He had a good workout, very bouncy.” — Suns assistant general manager Pat Connelly on Damian Jones.

What I didn't expect to hear from Domantas Sabonis: Arvydas used to tell him to watch how hard Amar'e Stoudemire finished on pick-and-rolls.

Amare is probably the best pick and roll big man the league has ever seen. It is either him or Karl Malone.

He was always a fantastic roll man. I wonder how things would have turned out had he not suffered the microfracture injuries. He was still great, but lost a bit something. Before, he was absurdly dominant, transcendent. Sigh, such a shame. So many stars, planets, solar systems, galaxies aligned against us.

The reddit community draft got us Skal at 13.

If he is there at 13, lock him in. His likely floor might be an athletic Channing Frye.

I'm against the 5 games before the finals, if we had that rule my Warriors would not be in the finals.

With Jones and Wade Baldwin rocketing up the draft charts I wonder if Pitt is regretting hiring the guy who only won 19 games with 2 apparent NBA first rounders.

But I guess it happens I saw Vandy in an early season tourney and they were being touted as a sleeper final 4 team but they never got it going.

The University of Washington has two likely first rounders in Marquese Chriss and Dejounte Murray. They only won 19 games this past season as well.

Both of whom were freshman, on a very young team and with fairly low expectations. Vanderbilt had a much more mature roster.

I was only referring to the comparison of having two first round picks.

True but I think Romar is a lousy coach. Great recruiter, fun to play for but can't really coach. Relies on talent.

Stallings had a rep as a good coach earlier in his career and lots of people had Vandy as a sleeper last year they really underachieved.

Chad Ford updated mockdraft from today

1. Simmons
2. Ingram
3. Dunn
4. Chriss
5. Murray
6. Bender
7. Brown
8. Hield
9. Ellenson
10. Murray

Screw draft and stash. Drafting Hernangomez at 28 when Damian Jones is still on the board is a mistake.

I would not be upset with this draft although we may have different preferences at power forward with the #4 pick. In my opinion, it's a roll of the dice. I find it hard seeing the Celtics drafting Dunn at #3.

I agree leaving Damian Jones on the board would be wrong with Len's contract nearing free agency.

Hearing Providence point guard Kris Dunn wants to go to Minnesota, will not work out for Phoenix or share medical records.

I thought he did not want to go to a place with an established pg? So, Rubio is what?

Great we've become an anti-destination for even draftees. Awesome.
