The refs have COMPLETELY lost control of the Warriors and Blazers game tonight. So many bad calls it's unreal. Both teams screaming for a moving screen call and the 2 they called tonight, one on Livingston one on Plumlee were both bad calls.

They let Aminu shove Green to get a rebound and dunk then on the other end call the exact same thing on livingston. Then he goes up for a layup gets hit in the face no call, goes nuts and the ref who missed the call calls 2 Technicals on him and throws him out. Admittedly Shaun snapped but he was completely right, he'd been hit in the face after getting 2 bad calls on him earlier in the game and he just lost it.

At least Curry is playing tonight, Portland playing really well, Thompson can't buy a shot for GSW. Kerr is going nuts on the refs the way things tend to go it'll be interesting to see if the 2nd half is reffed totally differently.

The way Curry played in the 4th qtr and overtime didn't even seem real. It was like watching a video game. He barely rippled the nets on a couple of those threes, which were all difficult. Starting 0-10 and finishing 5-6 on threes? Damn....

Yep I had a bad day at work, had to go back for a nonsensical reason and then was watching the Blazers even this thing up and was ready to just go to sleep but I couldn't and Steph made all the stress go away.

That was for the ages

And there's still fans that call him "just a great shooter??? I forget the time situation but besides Curry's incredible ballhandling and passing he probably had the most important rebound (and put-back) of the game too.

he's ridiculous. that game was one for the ages. the only reason I was looking forward to the playoffs this year was to watch Stef and see if he could do legendary playoff stuff. Well, that was quite a start for his first full game.

kid's amazing. beyond his outrageous range/stroke, his handles, passing ability and basketball IQ are off the charts. He leads this Warriors team to a back to back title with the best record ever, likely going through the best Spurs team ever and LeBron, and you can start talking about where Stef stacks up in the all-time debate.

I think if he leads the Warriors to another title this season then it's time to start putting him in that discussion with Kobe/LeBron/Magic/Bird/Jordan etc.

That was the play where Green got hit in the head and TNT was so busy gushing over the play by Curry they didn't even initially notice and then later just said lots of contact there probably a foul.

That and the hit on Livingston were never reviewed for flagrants(they weren't flagrant) but several far more innocuous fouls got reviewed. I think even the refs were so dazzled by Curry's play there they completely forgot about what happened after.

Remember when the NBA said that one of their "points of emphasis" was not granting continuation on fouls that happen way before the shot attempt? That was funny.

That wasn't continuation. They actually didn't CALL the foul on Leonard, which is why SA went bananas.

Another call the Spurs don't get at home. This is kind of fun to watch.

Looks like Adam Silver is getting the refs to screw the Spurs over for much help the Spurs had from Stern and his refs back in the day during those playoff series vs the Suns.

That's really funny. Is it NECESSARY for a ref to call a foul if it is clearly committed to benefit the team committing the foul?

I'm glad the referee didn't call the foul on Leonard because Westbrook had a clear path to the basket. I think the referee used some discretion in this no-call. Referees use discretion when making foul calls many times during a game.

Yep. I think refs should especially be able to do this on fouls away from the ball.

by rule? Yes. If someone FOULS someone, it's a foul. They got jobbed there and they also got jobbed on the Durant FTs where Adams clearly hip-checked Green into Durant to foul him there in the last minute.

Watching Curry doesn't even feel like watching a sporting competition. It's more like watching a magic act. For example, when street magicians like David Blaine perform, the audience reaction often is, "NO WAY. UH UH. NOPE. NOT POSSIBLE. NO WAY. THAT IS SCARY". I find myself reacting the same way watching Steph.

Now Im hoping SA wins to force a game 7 to give the Warriors more time.

Portland really played great in this series led at the half in 4 of the 5 games only one blowout. Good young talent they have a chance to be really good if they keep that group together.

My concern for the Warriors now is all the injuries. Curry seems ok but now Bogut is out, Green has an ankle and Barbosa looked like he might have broken his finger if not just a really bad jammed finger.

That was a fun series to watch even with all the bad refereeing.

Yep the last 2 minutes report the NBA does now admitted both calls were missed. Should have called the foul on Leonard instead of letting Westbrook go and score. And should have called the foul on Adams not Green falling into Durant.

This kind of thing has always happened; the big news is that the league is now trying to hold itself accountable. To be honest, I'll be surprised if this works, as much as I admire the idea. The patterns of making different calls (or non-calls) at the ends of games, or for stars, are so ingrained in both the officials' and the fans' minds that it may not be worth the struggle of retraining. My guess is that the league will get a serious push-back from the referees (do they have a union?) and that we'll see a lot less of this post-mortem critiquing in later seasons.

I can't remember another player making such ridiculous daggers in the NBA as Curry does. The shake and bake threes to either tie, take the lead or put the final nail in the coffin in so many games are just outrageous.

There has never been anyone like him... In terms of "clutch" shots in key moments, the closest comp is Jordan. But Jordan did it differently... Personally, I don't think Curry would've been able to do then, what he does now... or, not as often and effectively. The rules and style of play just wouldn't allow it to happen. But in todays' game, he is simply a freak!
