Jamal Crawford would immediately be the best pg on the roster and better than most of the pg’s we are considering trading for. He is old but he has not really slowed down. There are certainly worse moves we could make.

Crawford is not a point guard. That video is from a charity game with a few NBA players and a bunch of scrubs. You can find a highlight video of Chriss from the same game where he looks excellent. Nobody plays defense at games like that. If you want to see how Crawford plays now then you should find a Minnesota game from last year. At this point he's a slower Troy Daniels with better handles. I would rather have Daniels play PG than waste time bringing in Crawford.

Ball handling is ball handling whether a charity game or not. Crawford has a great handle. He can also shoot ok. I have not evaluated his defense but I will take the word of others here that it is not very good.

I like him as a bench signing. 1st guard off the bench for veteran stability and scoring.

OK. If he accepts, we have to cut two players, now. Canaan and Daniels I am thinking.

OK. This is last year. He is a cheap minor upgrade. Better than an expensive minor upgrade. His handle is fun to watch, even at this age. Crawford is an upgrade over Canaan and makes Shaq a possibility to keep as a defensive specialist. Yes. I would prefer something better at pg, but this is not a bad step.

Maybe Melton can be a two-way player. Canaan and Harrison could both go if the Suns add a veteran PG. I suppose the Suns have tried to trade Daniels and Reed.

I like what Gambo said about this potential signing a couple of days ago and now he is in the position where he has to report it.

According to Duane Rankin, the Suns new beat writer, Booker has been working as the lead guard in practice. There's a good chance he'll start there when he returns to the lineup after his injury. There's a little more to it in the article but he mentions how Kokoskov ran with a 2 1/2 PG sort of a system in preseason but now that he's using Booker as their PG, it seems like that 2 1/2 PG idea might be dead in the water.

The 2 1/2 point guard system was destined to fail. You can't run it when you only have 1/2 of a point guard.

Sadly, this is likely our best hope for remaining competitive and avoiding a complete collapse of team morale like we saw in preseason. The problem is that it significantly stunts Booker's development at his natural position of shooting guard, and he will be worn out come December or January, just like last year.

McDonough really screwed us on the point guard front.

Well we are going to seen what kind of coach Igor is. This team has some talented players. A good coach should be able to make something of that, even if they are young.

I don’t mind Booker at PG, he’s not our number one option now anyway.

Booker at pg is not our long term answer there, but it might help him develop his game a little more--like it did for Harden. We still need to add a pg though.

Good lord Donovan Mitchell should of won rookie of the year. Booker should be up for MVP.

So once Booker is back it looks like we'll have a starting line-up of Booker, Jackson, Ariza, Anderson, and Ayton.

I could see Jackson getting bumped for Crawford (assuming he signs) if he can't improve his efficiency. Subbing out Jackson for Crawford or Bridges could give us a lethal shooting line-up especially with defenses collapsing on Ayton.

I am thinking IF Crawford accepts vet's minimum it is a stop gap, pending a future trade. Just trying to get us some help going into the start of the season.

I think something like this. Crawford will probably get playing time at point guard and shooting guard if signed. Until the Suns sign a veteran point guard I'm not thrilled with their options. Melton and Okobo do not appear ready. Also Crawford may get minutes belonging to Reed and Daniels.

Who goes? To bring on Crawford we have to get rid of someone. Reed and Daniels may be one of the cuts.

There are a bunch of players that could go like Canaan, Harrison, Reed and Daniels. However, there is the issue of salaries. I believe Reed and Daniels have guaranteed contracts.

Even Bender is expendable although I don't think there are any takers.

We do have a 2 way, also, so I am thinking Melton or Okobo for that. Even after Crawford signs, I think that just buys us time for a trade of minor note later.
