That missed penalty was huge. Say what you will, but the VAR missed that one.
yeah I thought it was a pen, but Belgium clearly deserved the result. you cant take it away from them. Brazil should have scored without the penalty and they were not clinical.

the other thing I'd add with VAR is that Brazil were playing for the penalty all night. they were diving and even on that penalty the player took a dive. this is justice for me. If Neymar would just play the ball and quit diving they would score more goals.

Good news being that Belgium didn't do anything to worry England fans. Brazil, with slightly more composed finishing, would have easily won.

France are a little stronger but again, it's anyone's to win.

There's bias, then there's delusion. Belgium had a BRUTAL counterattack, and England's attack is a minnow to Brazil's shark. Also, overall, Brazil > England.

Ok. I'm not really sure what Belgium did that wasn't expected though. They only just beat a fairly average and wasteful Brazil side. They're good, but I don't think anyone should be scared of them. Brazil don't have a striker nearly on the level of Kane.

I disagree completely with your statements here. Brazil have a quality side and they showed it yesterday in spite of losing. For me Belgium deserved to go through, but they were also lucky. If England had the quality of players that Belgium have everyone would have them winning the world cup. Belgium were not favoured to beat brazil and are still being taken lightly because they have never won or played in a final. Harry Kane is the only English player that would play in a Belgium or Brazil lineup….and even then I have to say Lukaku has easily outplayed Harry Kane over the last 2 matches.

I thought the winner of last nights match would win the final. France will be very tough...they are coming on strong now. Belgium/Brazil was/is the only quarterfinal match featuring two teams that can both win the world cup final. You can already see the difference in Sweeden/England is on a slower pace.

England are playing very well. Sterling is their most dangerous player today, but he lacks confidence in scoring. Often does the same thing at City. If he can break through that is huge for England.

Sweden deserve to be out if they don't start attacking and pushing forward. I think they will be happy to wait until later if they can keep the score as is. but England need to be scoring...

Sweden didn't look bothered much until giving up the goal. England didn't have much in the game. But their game is taking advantage of set pieces, and though Sweden are usually good at stopping them, Maguire had a magnificent header to break them. Having to press higher, Sweden is being punctured more often. It's going perfectly to plan for England, so good on them.

The question is, can England get that elusive put-away goal? It should be an interesting 2nd half.

There arent many Brazilian defenders I'd put in the England team tbh.

I'm not sure how long you've been following the game, but if you think people underestimate Belgium then you're off your rocker. Literally, all people talk about for the last few tournaments are how good Belgium's players are.

Oh, they were trying--it just wasn't working well. That's why Sterling has been able to get freer in behind the Swedes' defense.

Not sure what the issue with a slower pace is. Speed doesn't automatically win world cups.

it is tactics that Sweden plays. Sweden don't have a strong team so they are not playing an open game until after being 2-0 down. Sweden are to England what England is to Belgium/Brazil/France. But with that said I am impressed with England. they are playing very well and deserve all of the credit they will surely get from a victory today.

Yes they are talented. But there is Brazil talent, German talent, and to a lesser degree England talent. Then there's Belgian talent. It has a different ring for some people in my opinion. Which is perhaps why most English fans are so happy Germany and Brazil have gone out. it has them believing in their young side and they have every right to do that. So when I say Belgium are underrated I'm talking about the amount of people that have picked Belgium to beat Brazil and win the World Cup? don't think there are many?
