Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me

How many times has this team built up our hopes and dreams just to let us down?

So many times I can't put them all here

That's why so many of us are like, "show me".

We've been there before with all the smoke and mirrors

It does no good to look at the team in rose colored glasses and ignore all the flaws

If we can see the flaws and holes in the team it must be very apparent to opposing teams
Yup. "Wow, X rookie looks GREAT in camp" or "Wow, X vet is TOTALLY back to greatness!" rings completely hollow when we've heard it all before. The only hype train I can recall becoming truly legit after insane overhype was Boldin.

When somebody is good they surely are lying but when they say they are bad then it's true ?

TN has blasted me for being negative while voicing my opinion. I simply do not believe Watts, Green , Connor , Butler and others are suddenly going to have career years. IF I am correct, and I DON’T want to be, this could be a very underwhelming season.

They don't have to have career years. They only have to be better than what we previously had and I believe all 4 that you names are and will be.

I think Keim is the worst thing related to the organization right now. Well, really, it should be Bidwill since he refuses to fire him. Constant old FA signings, treating the CB position like it’s some low valuable position, the coaching hirings, etc. All of that points to one guy.

Bidwill is the worst thing to do with the org. All franchises with owners that are as involved as Mike are doomed to failure. The Cardinals are a no risk excuse for Mike to play at being an NFL pro. He get's to do all the fun stuff, leave all the crap to the underlings and he's only ever going to get richer while doing it.

As long as Mike is involved in contracts, FA moves, draft picks etc then this team will struggle to do anything. It's why I've stopped hating on Keim so much. It's clear that he's just a sock puppet with Mike's hand up his butt.

Inexact science. However, they dont have Gowan (Im ok with this pick though) or Dimukeje making the team. Meanwhile a few picks later

I'll just go dig out all my draft day tweets from the 5th round onwards saying we should pick Trey Smith. All the health concern stuff was nonsense. He was always going to be fine and if not what's a low round pick?

He went after Dimukeje and Gowan. Was nuts not to draft Smith.

I cant knock it too much because I dont think I was on the Trey Smith train. Wouldnt have minded him, but had no problem with who they drafted. There were a few here that really liked him from what I remember.

The thing is these kinda 6th round hits are what separates the great franchises from everyone else. If he lives up to the hype they get a starting lineman for the cheap.

I was good with Josh Jones over Lucas Niang as well. And he appears to be a starter. Some just seem to have a higher hit rate (although admittingly premature) than others.

Trey Smith had a universal 2nd round grade. When he was still there with our 6th round picks it was criminal not to take the punt on his health issues. NFL level doctors and physical regimes were always likely to fix that and if not, well odds are any other 6th rounder is trash anyway and doesn't make the 53. It's all upside.

Maybe the Chiefs have a higher hit rate because they factor these things in and make good decisions whereas we don't.

This is what I find ridiculous for all the people needlessly bashing the team.

I dont think anyone expects JJ Watt to be a DPOY candidate or AJ Green to be an All Pro. I think the more optimistic on this board think those guys are upgrades from last year, thats all.

Watt is a significant upgrade from Blackson. Massive. Even at this point in his career. AJ Green is better than Fitzgerald is. Butler was at least as good as Peterson, and the depth at CB is better.

You'd think the Cardinals went 3-13 the way the darksiders post on this forum. The Cardinals were ONE win away from the freaking playoffs. And the teams reaction is quite telling; they went after leaders and veterans. The WR corps looks absolutely stacked right now, and the DL AND OL is as talented as its been in a really long time.

On paper, this is a team that can win football games.

Would be cool to see Trey, Dimukeje, & Gowan play an NFL down first before making incredible assumptions.

I find it hilarious how folks should brush TC hype to the side, but when a player isn’t playing up to par in TC, it’s time to worry. However, it’s the exact opposite when folks see TC vids of other teams.

Going with no expectations is the way to go.

Agree. Not 1 single game has been played and yet the sky is falling

My biggest frustration with the Dimukeje selection was that I just couldn't see how he was going to fit on the roster with Gardeck and Fitts who are already special teams guys. That is also the reason I was good with Wilson, Gowan, and Wiggins. So many spots where fast DBs can fit on special teams if they couldn't beat out some fringe vets year 1.

Where I think that the Doom and Gloomers on this Board might not be representative of the Cardinals' fanbase was the nice turnout for the Red/White scrimmage.

I agree but I would add second year Steve Breaston, honey badger and K1 to the list. Still doesn’t make up for the five different wide receivers who never made the active roster, Olsen Pierre or the unstaffed free agents Mitch pimped as future HOFers ever year.

Why? One of them has been lighting up camp and has people who know what they are talking about saying how great he has been. He's also been named the starting RG on the Chiefs first depth chart over Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, Kyle Long, Austin Blythe and Nick Allegretti.

The two we drafted have done squat and will be lucky to make the team. The best comment on either has been that Gowan might stick for ST's.

I don't need to see them play to know which I'd rather have.

i dont know

you are describing probably 26 of 32 franchises

Not at all. There's being involved as an owner, like Robert Kraft, and then there's being in the office every day getting your fingers into every decision football operations makes.

Our owner is the 2nd kind.

Because you’re already making out their NFL careers based of TC videos which is #notsmart. Not even after 1 year of NFL play which would at least make a bit of sense.

Now if Trey turns out to be bad & Tay or Victor turns out to be competent players, you would look very foolish now would you?
