Zion and Ben Simmons just flat out stealing money like we’ve never seen before.
I remember listening to local radio and they were comparing would you max Ayton or Zion.. it was like Ayton didn't perform to that level and Zion has been hurt.. they said you have to max Zion.. man were they wrong..

Dude is highly interested in fitness, though.xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media
The Pelicans should have protected themselves. When Embiid got a max off his rookie deal the Sixers added language so they weren't screwed if he didn't play or got hurt again. New Orleans did nothing to protect themselves from Zion and he'll have a 1/4 of a billion by the time his deal is up and can walk away from basketball altogether if he chooses.
It seems like he doesn’t want to play. Last season he could have came back but said when he feels like Zion he will come back. They said physically he was fine.
How could you not want to come back and help your team? I know people considered Ayton a bust but I think Zion is more of a bust.
Ayton isn't a bust, he is just disappointing. He's a pretty good player that could obviously be a great player if he just were more assertive.
Zion, missing 75% of the games to this point of his career and seemingly having no interest in fixing his easily fixable issues... that is a bust. Wouldn't be at all surprised if he shows up fatter than ever to training camp.
No interest in developing a jumper? Really?xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media
Let’s trade them Watanabe and metu for him.xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media
New rules implemented for the 2023-24 season. I like the expanded coaches challenge.

The NBA Board of Governors today approved an in-game flopping penalty and expanded use of the coach’s challenge. Both rule changes will be implemented beginning with the 2023-24 NBA season.
I like the coaching challenge change. The flopping is whatever. Wish the Challenge thing took effect this season.
I thought the coaching challenge change took effect this coming season... dang.
Just in time since we now have a coach who will actually, like, use challenges and stuff.I like the coaching challenge change. The flopping is whatever. Wish the Challenge thing took effect this season.
Yep. There are lots of busts with the first overall pick.I feel the same. He did not live up to the number 1 overall pick but I wouldn’t call him a bust. Just disappointed he didn’t live up to his Shaq and Kobe 2.0 comment.

Certain calls are easy. Coaches had a 74.7% success rate on out-of-bounds challenges last season. For goaltending, it was 78.6%. Most calls, though, are more difficult: Fouls were overturned just 43.9% of the time. The block/charge ranks atop coaches’ list of head scratchers.
I'd like to see some stats on coaches challenges. I think Monty used his frequently. I remember a number of instances when Booker or CP3 would urge him to use it and he would.
Sometimes though coaches were hesitant to use them early in the game simply because they wouldn't have it later, even if successful. Now that won't be an issue.
I couldn't find info on how often certain coaches used their challenges. The only thing I found that was interesting was this article with this excerpt...
That's a bit higher than I thought on calls except fouls, which is about what I would have guessed. That might even be a little higher than I thought because rarely do I recall fouls being overturned. Still, interesting data. I wish we had success rate for each coach though.
I remember that. It was freaking outlandish. Gee, why didn't they just go back and reverse all the other erroneous calls in the game, too?I always felt like our assistant coaches were wrong 100%. A play would go down then you would see one of them jumping around behind Monty with their ipad telling them to challenge.
The craziest challenge, WTF, moment was is during the Finals run. They challenge, i think it was the Bucks. But officiating actually goes back to the previous possession as well and finds us at fault? That I have only seen once.
