I can't really see Sabonis grabbing Draymond with any ill intent in that video. However Draymond stomps on his chest/abdomen. Really dirty on Draymond.

Yeah, like Pat Beverley, Draymond Green doesn't get the benefit of the doubt from me. He should be suspended.

Him taunting the crowd was unreal.

If the play didn't warrant a suspension his antics then, taunting the crowd, should. He's an absolute buffoon.

I think it warrants more than a 1 game suspension with the addition of his display towards the crowd but the NBA tends to be overly lenient IMO.

Regardless of whether Sabonis grabbed his legs, Green not only stomped on his chest but looked like he tried to stomp on one of his legs as well, both of which could have caused severe injury.

Looking at the replay, it looked like Sabonis grabbed the legs of Draymond Green.

Maybe it should have been flagrant 2 fouls on both players. That said, it looked like Green stomping on Sabonis at the end could have easily broke his leg.
I think they got it right. We have seen guys grab arms and legs away from the ball before. What Green did was way more excessive.

I just got back from Philippines I saw the play I think the refs got it right. It was a foul on Sabonis and a flagrant on Draymond with ejection. I would be ok with a 1 game suspension for Draymond I think it was a dirty play but to be honest, it was not a basketball play by Sabonis and if you watch the play it wasn't Draymond that knocked Sabonis down, he grabbed Draymonds foot but someone else knocked him down. But I'm fine with a 1 game suspension for Dray

didn’t green kick a suns player this year. Someone fell near the goal and Green “accidentally” kicked him?

Just got back from Philippines and finally was able to get in I was locked out because I tried to get in over there I guess.

I think the Kings will win the series, I wasn't expecting to be down 2-0 but I just don't think the Warriors defense is good enough and the issue they have is they need Draymond or Looney on the floor to defend Sabonis but it gives him an easy cover on the other end because neither guy is a scorer. I missed the entire first game on a boat and saw the last 6 minutes tonight so maybe they tried this but I'd be tempted to play the Kings without either Dray or Loon on the floor and see what happens?

FOX is the best player on the floor so far but I'm wondering if for a few minutes you go with Wiggins, Klay, Steph, Payton and either DiVincenzo or Poole if that works or if it's just too small and Sabonis dominates inside? Even Kuminga although tonight it looks like he and Donte had very bad - numbers in small minutes.

I will say this ,it's not over yet but last year during the finals I said multiple times the Kings hiring Brown was a good move and he'd do well and multiple people attacked me, he's terrible, he can't coach etc. The irony is what he's done is they're a great offensive team that got marginally better on defense but they are better on offense because they got some nice pieces like Huerter and because Brown is turning Fox loose and nobody can guard him.

I don't expect the Warriors to roll over but they aren't winning 4 of 5 IMO, getting Wiggs and GP2 back is huge but they've both been out for a long time and while they're good, the team isn't "sharp" yet with them and it's also appearing to cause some issue with Kuminga who was playing outstanding before Wiggins came back.

The Kings are doing it right now they double Steph when he crosses halfcourt and in the 4th quarter he forced contested 3's because he got frustrated driving or passing it up. The warriors are not as aggressively trapping Fox and when they do, someone hits a 3. First game it was Monk from the box, this game Davion Mitchell

This is on my FB feed, Sabonis is talking about this being dangerous for the game. Again I agree what Draymond did IMO is worthy of a suspension but what happened was initiated by Sabonis grabbing the leg. If he doesn't grab the leg nothing happens and this was after the earlier "incident" where he ran into Draymond trying to get back inbounds and started flailing drawing a flagrant on Green that was overturned on appeal when the refs saw that Draymond hadn't done anything, Sabonis just ran into him and then acted.

The problem there was not that long after there was a play the Warriors wanted to appeal but couldn't because they had to use the appeal to get that first flop by Sabonis overturned.

My guess is if the refs review this whole sequence in the 4th quarter they will probably NOT suspend Draymond. He's clearly got a history of this but it's going to look like Sabonis is trying to draw a call that's not actually happening

Sorry Russ, after watching it many times I see it differently. IMO, Sabonis, who isn't my favorite player by a long stretch, was just reacting to being down and someone above him. There was no intent nor did he ever lock him up. By rule it's still either a foul or a technical for Sabonis but nothing he did warranted the obvious attempt to injure that Draymond followed up with.

You can understand Green reacting but he went far further than can be justified. OTOH the league bends over backwards on these things under Silver so for all I know they're planning on giving him the Commissioner's Medal of Honor or something like that. But IMO it absolutely should cost him games.

Game 1 we saw Green just lay upon Sabonis.

Yeah, what Sabonis did can be debated, but there is no debate when it comes to what Green did. He stomped him on the chest, and then made sure his other foot landed on Sabonis' knee. In my opinion, this should result in a very long suspension. He was obviously trying to hurt Sabonis. On top of that, he instigated the crowd.

The taunting was insane. I really thought a fan was going to rush him and a massive brawl was going to break out.

What's really crazy is he had to know he was in the wrong for what he did, yet he is going to play up the villain role and try and incite a riot.

The incident itself probably doesn't warrant a suspension, but to me taunting the crowd to that degree does.

He tries to be the guy that you love-to-hate, but just ends being the guy you hate.

I was really indifferent, annoyed at times by green, but what he has done is just uncalled for; both the step on the chest and the crowd antics. Just join the WWE if you're going to continue this crap.

Flagrant one maybe on Sabonis. Green tried to injure.

I didn't say it warranted it I said the stomp by Draymond happened because Sabonis grabbed his foot. He wasn't intentionally walking over Sabonis or anything like that. Sabonis got knocked into draymond and fell and then grabbed the leg. Klay was blocking him out and Sabonis fell down. Draymond was standing to his side, he grabs Draymonds foot and then Draymond steps on him. Absolutely punish Draymond for his reaction but don't blame the play on Draymond when you were the one that grabbed his foot first.

The reaction warrants a possible suspension but that play doesn't happen if Sabonis doesn't first grab the foot

Yes and that part is being overlooked IMO. Draymond was yelling "pu##y" right at a fan you could see it live. I get the fans were probably saying as bad or worse but I think he should be suspended for that action.

I don't agree entirely but Damian Lillard said he thinks it was an accident. I disagree but he did make an interesting point, the original foul by Sabonis could have and maybe should have been called a take foul.

I think this would be fair. What Green did afterward was a flagrant 2 and much more. It looked like he tried to injure Sabonis.

I believe Draymond Green deserves suspensions for both incidents: stepping on Sabonis and inciting the crowd.

Can one imagine if fans came out of the stands what would have happened.

Sabonis started it, without a doubt, and deserved a foul or technical. But IMO there was no ill intent on his part he was just flailing around trying to protect himself. Green wouldn't have known that though so like I said, it's understandable that he'd react. But he went far beyond an acceptable reaction, that was an attempt to injure IMO. Then he tried to step on his leg too before leaving the court where he began his sideline antics.

We agree what Green did was excessive and beyond, but I don't see Sabonis as faultless. In retrospect, Sabonis may have deserved a flagrant 1 penalty.
