Ayton can't be traded to Indiana for a year. It's not the no trade clause that's holding it up, it's the restriction that comes about when a player signs an offer sheet somewhere. Even with his approval we have to wait a year to send him to Indiana.

Yeah, I wanted to speed it up. It's a year period for Indiana.

It's not like July 15th is a long time away. So if the Pacers want to trade for Ayton, they are eligible in 2 days.

James Jones, the Suns president of basketball operations, was inside the plush suite with team CEO Josh Bartelstein and new coach Frank Vogel, all of whom had flown in the day before on a private jet.

But it was Mat Ishbia, the team's new owner as of earlier this year, who led the three-hour session that wasn't just aimed at basketball but how Beal's family would fit into what's being built in Phoenix.

When the meeting ended, Beal was on his way toward being a Sun.

"That plane ride home will be a memory I have for a long time," Bartelstein told ESPN. "We had prep calls, stayed up late the night before working together on the presentation and it all paid off. Mat led and it went really well."

Brian Windhorst on Matt Ishbia

It's ESPN Insider so I couldn't read the whole thing. I thought it was timely because we brought this topic up today.

Yes, that is the whole point of his theory. He thinks the deal is already done, and the roster spot for bol bol will show up after the trade.

I believe trading for McConnell also gives the Suns a salary of size 9.3m for trade purpose next season. Combined with say Damion's they could get a player in the MLE range.

If a deal is already done then wouldn’t we hear about it? I mean its not like it would be considered tampering or anything right?

I would think we hear a trade is made but its just waiting to be finalized on the 15th. Right now is just what people speculate.

Theoretically, the trade could be completed tomorrow at 9 pm Arizona time if there was an agreement.

It may still happen but the last I heard, the Pacers weren't interested in trading TJ McDonnell.

This is the speculation but if the delay is the Pacers have to wait until July 15th, we will find out soon enough.

Man, if you all think Ayton is bad, Turner is worse. He is a terrible rebounder (6.8 career average) who averages 20 missed games a year. If Ayton has to go please let it be for Clint Capela.

I'm not ecstatic at the idea of Turner either. I'd really like Capela as well. I thought Turner's rebounds might have been low due to playing beside Sabonis but he was lackluster again last season without Sabonis around any longer. We might get 2-3 more boards a game out of him here but that's because we lack depth and good rebounders to play with him.

I like the idea of the Suns having a multiple ball handler attack.

Duane Rankin Arizona Republic:

"We want to play with pace so we're going to have a multiple ball handler attack in most possessions," Vogel said. "I love the fact that both Bradley (Beal) and Devin (Booker) have played point at phases of their career and can initiate offense as can KD (Kevin Durant). We also want to see how the rest of the roster shakes out to see if we add a point guard. Cam Payne will be in the mix. All those decisions will play out in camp."

Is Flex really quoting himself now? @Germz249 is going to need to step up his self promotion game to reach that level.

I don't know. I was just surfing on Twitter when I ran across the tweet from Flex.

The rumors of trading Payne, Wainright and acquiring Bol Bol has been out there for days.
