Folks can we put the idea that the Suns were now completely top heavy and had no way to add solid contributors around KD/Booker to bed yet? And maybe worry a little less about the future considering all of the ridiculous contracts being signed? The title destination spots in the league doesn’t need the full MLE or Biennial exceptions to get contributors. And Ishbia is making a name for himself as an owner who’s willing to spend whatever it takes to win.

AND, they still have Ayton as a tradeable piece if he doesn’t fit the rest of this club’s attitude. We can afford to wait for the right deal here now.

The present and future are bright for the Suns. Book/KD/Beal make it so now and Book/Beal/Ishbia will make it so in the nearby future.

Moving forward, the Suns still own the bird rights to three of their own free agents: Torrey Craig, Bismack Biyombo and Jock Landale. The Eubanks news means Landale will likely be on the way out, but Craig is a useful two-way wing, while Biyombo would be a great fit in Vogel’s defense as a shot-blocking backup.


The two sides could still be negotiating deals that stretch beyond what those players are “worth,” since bird rights allow the Suns to reward them with a payday up to $11.3 million in annual salary. A two- or three-year deal in the $7-11 million range for either one of these guys is not impossible, since it’d keep them in Phoenix, reward them for more than the vet minimum, and allow the Suns to structure their contracts for more tradable amounts.

We know Landale is out. Gordon just took a spot. If we waive Isaiah Todd, we can pick up a spot, and we can two way our rookie, Camara. So we could still get both guys. Bizzy would be fire with his shot block rate. Craig is that versatile player who is dependable.

He's still a good piece to develop because we will lose some guys at the end of the season. So a two way, we can get him some experience. One of the things I hate about two way contracts is they only allow the guys to play in like half the regular season games. I hope the new CBA eases that up a bit.

Maybe if the money was right and more than what anyone else was offering he would go to Detroit? I thought he had sent some Twitter message… Tweet towards the end of the Denver series about his frustration with lack of playing time.

As Chap pointed out in another thread the other day call my Craig did not play well in about 20 minutes in the first game. I was just annoyed they didn't start Craig I am play him at least 25 minutes per game that whole series even if he did struggle in one game off the bench.
