That's your perogative, but I get tired of the constant carping and complaining. No matter what the Cards do, some on here will bitch about it. Why don't we wait to see what their plan is instead of critisizing each individual move. We are in the second day of FA for crying out loud and haven't drafted a single person as of yet.

so, are you saying we should just shut down the board then until the season starts? it's the internet 40... people are going to have opinions when things happen.

Looks like the Same Old Cardinals to me 40.

Of course that means 2012 NFC Champions!

I'm not saying anyone cares about me being here, but why not lighten up a little bit if for no other reason than your own health? Or, alternatively, WAIT for the bad news to actually react to it.

Not to go all mushy on you bro, but I will care if you leave even if no one else does...:D. Everyone here makes the board happen, for good or bad. I'm sure some will go crazy over not signing Manning but in spite of all the hyperbole and craziness, to me it's all good.

Golfing buddy of mine is a DIE HARD 49ers fan. A guy who can tell you who they drafted in the 5th round in 1997 off the top of his head and travels from Austin to SF for games type fan.

He said "Snyder is a good signing and Adam may turn out to be the best free agent signing the Cards have this year" If we don't get Manning of course. Said he thought Snyder really helped solidify their line when he took over for Chilo Rachal and played at a Pro Bowl level at times last season. Also Snyder's best position really is Right Tackle.

Now this guy is as big a 49er homer as 40yearfan is for the Cards so take it for what its worth.

And yes we razz each other mercilessly every football season.

Interesting... Everything I've read about this guy so far has said he is far more superior at the Guard spot and a very mediocre player on the ends. Not saying your friend is wrong, just saying the opinion on the guy league wide appears to lean the other way.

Quit living in the past.
We're living in the present...and the Cardinals are still slow to react to FA and contract negotiations.

Are they better than they were 10 years ago? Sure they are. But that is damning faint praise.

FWIW, I like the Snyder signing.

Snyder himself said his best position was RG on Doug and Wolf a few minutes ago.

I wonder if those opinions are coming from the same sources as the Manning reports.

:D

I don't really know. Like I said the guy just loves the 49ers and unlike some fans doesn't bag on a guy just because he left San Francisco. And of course he could have been saying that because we're old friends and he wanted me to feel good about the signing.

Hearing the Cardinals didn't have to cut anybody to fit this signing under the CAP. The Cards were a couple million under as is, so this seems like it's a pretty cheap signing. Good move if so.

Honestly, what is a team supposed to do when you can't draft and develop an OL? You have to try something.
In my opinion, the biggest mistake of this offseason was not firing R Grimm

I like the signing, as long as it wasn't an expensive one, and it doesn't sound like it was. This will spell the end for Deuce, and will probably move Hadnot to that swing G/C backup role. Good deal.

Yep, very cheap signing if they were able to fit it under the available cap space.

Its a small sample size of course, so take it for what its worth, but Sando has an article on it along with some stats.

Snyder vs. DD 2011: 4 tackles, 1 assist and 1 sack in 2 games. Ave:

2 tackles, 0.5 assists, 0.5 sacks per game.

Like I said, DD must have given his endorsement.

Honestly good teams sign free agents for depth and draft their superstars.

If nothing else this signing and possible future signings dont paint us in a corner and allow us to draft BPA

.... and Warren Sapp ranks DD along with Ngata as the two best "D" tackles in football.

This is a great pickup IMO. Someone who can slide into any slot is valuable, given our inconsistency at various positions and given the injuries. I don't know how anyone can complain.

I totally agree with outcent13, who said you sign FA's for depth and draft superstars. I'm all about that. This is a great pickup for us.

And DD would be all-world if he played in a 4-3. He's a real team-player in my opinion, willing to move to a 3-4 where his impact, especially at his size, isn't as explosive. It's telling that he tweeted a lot about Haynesworth whining like a baby moving to a 3-4 while he was basically chopping down double teams in the same scheme himself at a much smaller size.

I have to believ the Cards know what they are doing here because being a division rival they have had to study this guy on film. Time to add a tackle or two. Its crickets for Levi. Wonder if he is getting any calls?

OMG. This must be the dumbest analysis I ever saw.

The rest of the NFL vs. DD in 2011: 30 tackles, 13 assists, and 2.5 sacks in 14 games.

Average against the rest of the National Football League:

2.14 tackles, 0.92 assists, 0.18 sacks.

Dockett is probably pissed that every RG in the NFL isn't as terrible as Snyder is. :D

Of course, when you actually compare Dockett's production against the rest of the season, it highlights how incredibly stupid looking at it this way is.

It's worth noting that Snyder was playing against one of the worst RTs in the NFL not named Brandon Keith in Anthony Davis.

BTW--At 6'6", 325, he's our prohibitive starting Right Tackle. None of Grimm's hand-picked guards have been that big:

Faneca: 6'5", 316
Hadnot: 6'2", 310
Colledge: 6'4", 308

LOL Terrible Tackle #1,832. But as we discussed there just aren't many people on the planet who can play Tackle in the NFL.
