After Noel and Mclemore, This Is The Player That I want the Suns to Pick

He seems like a worlds better shooter than Ellis but not as athletic.. I mean come on McCollum shot 52% from 3 and took over 5 attempts.

I thought maybe Mitch Ritchmond would be a decent comparison?

I am starting to like the idea of McCollum at #5 if McLemore and Oladipo are gone. With Dragic and Marshall we have two pretty big PGs. McCollum is the best shooter in the draft I guess we could use that and our backcourt can compensate height a bit.

Plus Dragic imo not being a really pure PG maybe we can do it with 2 kind of combo guards.

Maybe not the best long term prospect but a pretty safe bet for rookie of the year on a team that desperately needs scoring.

His numbers were very consistent in college (but his minutes were too, that helps). Ha, he rebounded at over 6 boards a game--that's better than Robin Lopez at Stanford

He sure will be an exciting player to watch. I am just not sure how he will pair with Dragic. Like you said, two combo guards could work. It certainly did for Isiah Thomas and Joe Dumars.

I'd be ecstatic if we could land a Mitch Richmond kind of player out of this draft. In fact, I think every team in the league would trade in their selection for a Mitch Richmond level player out of this group. If CJ really is in that ballpark, I'm sure we'll jump at the chance to grab him.

I'd take McCollum too, guy is a tremendous shooter off the dribble. Can create his own shot. I like his IQ on the court too. I do worry about him finishing above NBA bigs in the paint. He isn't very athletic and isn't that explosive. He gets a lot of scores because he has a good idea on how to break down a defender. Oladipo doesn't have the same shot and he can't really shoot that good (although improved). Oladipo has friggin awesome defensive skills.

You're right, I didn't give any consideration to the difference in height.

I think it is a fair comparison, height isn't the only thing. CJ seems faster to me. Richmond was a tough, physical scoring guard. He also played pretty good D I think.

Its going to be an interesting draft. This is one where there is going to be some player that everyone loves but no one is talking about right now. He will fly up the draft board on draft day.

Shabazz is interesting. The take on him for some is that he is not good enough to be the #1 option on a team, but his personality and mentality won't let him be effective in a supporting role.

Its fascinating. Its not just the level of talent that is important, but the mentality that is appropriate for that level of talent.

I'm assuming McLemore won't be available. If he is, then I'm not sure. It's a toss up for me between him and Oladipo.

I have huge doubts about him and I still wish we were taking him. But you're right, he'll be long gone by the time we pick. I think we take Shabazz with an eye to pairing him with Beasley as our one-two punch. That's a combo that's hard to beat. Wiggins here we come.
