was it ever a dream?

AJ Hawk seemed like one of those average players that gets overvalued because he played on a Superbowl team.

Wow, imagine re-signing your overdrafted player when you didn't want to guarantee the last year of his rookie contract.

Antrel didnt want to play here from the minute we drafted him.. So resigning wasnt an option..

And lets look back on this.. Are you really telling me youd rather have Rolle than Rhodes?

:bang: But Rolle made the Pro Bowl over Rhodes, shows you that too many coaches and voters don't pay attention to us. Rhodes is the biggest reason the JETS went from a top 5 defense to a mediocre one, Darrell Revis talked about how much he missed Rhodes this year.

Rolle making the pro bowl dont be jack crap.. Adrian Wilson made the pro bowl last year and he'll tell you he prolly shouldnt have made it himself..

Rolle should not have made the pro bowl last year.. It was just that he played for NY that he made it..

Rolle and Rhodes are still equivalent players in my mind. Rhodes is more consistent and probably better in coverage, Rolle is a more versatile weapon, especially close to the LOS. I'd prefer to have kept the team that won the NFC West twice in a row as close together as possible than rebuild and see the garbage that we put on the field last season.

The Jets were the #3 defense in the NFL last year. #6 in scoring after being #1 in scoring the year before. In what world is that "mediocre"? Are you on drugs?

Or maybe they do pay attention and that's why he made it. The biggest reason the Jets "fell" in defense is they lost their NT early in the season and Revis missed time with hammy issues.

They also lost the guy who replaced Rhodes halfway through 09 in Jim Leonhard in December to a freak broken leg during a practice.

..............

That sort of thing was supposed to have stopped with the "Not Your Father's Cardinals". Guess not. Sure were a lot of guys who either had problems with the team or wanted out of town last year.

Oh well it doesn't matter. The Cards were beyond terrible last season so whatever they did obviously was a mistake. Let's hope they do a better job this off season.

That quote from Gee is the kind of revisionist history that starts with every departed free agent, from Simeon Rice to David Boston to Larry Fitzgerald's first contract extension to Karlos Dansby to Antrel Rolle. Some fans don't understand that the vast majority of players could care less whom they're playing for, as long as that team gives them (1) the most money, and (2) the most exposure (which leads to more money). Maybe at the very end of a player's career winning becomes an issue, but if Fitz is going to make $50 million over four years with $40 million guaranteed, he'll find a way to play even if Max Hall returns as the starter.

Maybe they will cut Barnett now or make him available by trade. I think he has a +$5 million deal for next year.

Rolle didn't leave in FA--we cut him. And, to answer your question, give me Rhodes any day of the week.
