Wow...that looks really really stupid.

Please give the writers whatever they want...

I really have no interest in this reality TV crap anyhow, but I will not watch any of the new shows they are coming out with because I think it only serves to prolong the writers strike. If dumb America watches all of this crap just as much as they watch regular TV it seems to me to give the producers much more time to play hardball.

I only watch the originals anyhow... survivor and amazing race.

So you don't like reality TV or you only like certain reality TV?

also how are those concepts more original than American Gladiators?

AG has them beat by about a decade

loved it when it first came out. they had contestants that were like "every man," but eventually it became a lot of ex-division I athletes and didn't seem like such a great disparity in size, musculature (sp?) and athleticism between the contestants and gladiators.

we made one of our fraternity rush events an american gladiators theme. not a great idea to beat up kids wanting to get into the fraternity. but some people just couldn't wait a week to start hazing . . .

wolf looks like a puss.

i bet this is awful.

Any of you who say you aren't going to watch it are full of it. You know you're going to watch it.

The only thing that will suck compared to the first one is the lack of mullets.

Abomb and I started a blog about this very thing. For this very reason.

Personally, I'm worried a little bit, but I think it'll be okay. I have to say, I really like the look of Venom.

Yeah, I watched it.

Yeah, I thought it was pretty entertaining on a boring Sunday night.

Yeah, I'll watch it again. :help:

I think it works if you look at it as a joke. If you want a true competition like the old one, it's an embarrassment. If this is what they want to put out there, it will never be as good as the old one.

Absolutely horrific. And the assualt, can you just use one camera angle and focus on something for more than 1 second? Its impossible to follow any action or know what the hell is going on.

I feel like I was watching the intro to the xfl taking to a higher extreme.

Definitely will never watch this again.

The new assault is really lame. Sandboxes and a slingshot? Come on, go back to letting the contestants use the nerf cannons and whatnot. The eliminator just isn't right either, fire pits and rolling barrels don't exactly say American Gladiators. Having the audience heckle the contestants after falling into the water with goofy music was pretty bizarre as well. Now admittedly the show is supposed to be a little goofy, but it used to be at least somewhat of a legitimate competition. However, the second episode seemed a little more toned down than the first, hopefully that is a trend that will continue. All in all, it wasn't great but it was better than what I was expecting.

I love Wolf. That man is badass.

I thought the interviews before each event were stupid and hokey. But I was entertained with the challenges, that's for sure. Seemed like the hits were more vicious/violent than the old American Gladiators.

What's up with all the water?

way too cheesey for me. everything seemed so rehearsed and scripted. the show would definitely worked if it was just real, tough competition. oh well, nice try i guess. not.

The Pyramid is by far the toughest AG event ever. I personally think it was great.

The original was cheesy as all get out and this one follows in true fashion.

yeah - the original was cheesy and had interviews and such

this elimantor looks very tiring - i don't think they were faking it on the escalator up the end

some events were really good - some not so much

the elevated wrestling platform looked pretty tough

a lot of the gladiators seemed to have very poor technique - hopefully they develop a little better

Well, tonight's episode was more toned down than the premiere which was a welcome change. Its pretty amusing how some of the competitors are more hokey than the gladiators though.

i've seen every show so far and i definitely miss the old events.. like the roller cage event, the maze etc...

how a 46 yo mom can beat a 28 yo hottie is beyond me and bad for ratings!

I agree. And starting every show with the Gauntlet is getting old. They really need to bring back some of the old events.

surprised no one has re-started this thread...

I am able to now watch the whole hr show in just under 20 minutes.. The Gladiators are definitely getting better, but the contestants are getting worse... too much story in there... couples vs each other... people who lost weight vs each other blah...

Did like how the last guy just totally ran over the wolf guy haha..

Do they still have those bean bag cannon things? I loved those. Always wanted to be on the show just to do that portion of the contest.
