I agree. I thought that show was great--even by singers I normally don't care for (Ace, too).

I think the final three will be:
Chris
Taylor
Kat

Kat wins the contest, but Chris becomes rich and famous. Taylor ends up on the Sureal Life in 3 years.

Agree with all of the above except Taylor, I think Taylor is destined for Vegas, being the highlighter at a casino for the next 20 years, then showing up for American Idol 25 as a coach.

There was a hilarious parody of Taylor on SNL. Here is the link if anyone missed it..

TAYLOR HICKS SNL PARODY

Predictions for leaving this week? Elliot or Paris.

Chris and Kat will likely be the two finalists, unless Kellie keeps getting the sympathy votes like she did last week. I vote for her simply because she is HOT! :D

Taylor, I like him because he is having a blast. Pretty much what that show should be about.

Pickler and Hicks annoy the crap out of me.

I like Elliot and Chris, but only on a TV level. My wife likes Paris, but I think she over sings every song.

On a side note, I hate it when they do the camera angle where it floats in front of them and then sweeps across the stage and the singer follows it. It's really dumb, but yeah

Katherine was hands down the best.

Plus, you could see her panties. That's bonus votes.

Bocelli is the man...what a damn stud. I want to go to his concerts. I also want to go to a Willie Nelson concert. And a Cake concert. Enough about me.

To the action.

1. Kat. WOW...she nailed that one. I loved it, all of it. Her look, her hair, her voice, her showing of panties, her range and power. The judges are on crack, hate her, or it didn't sound as great live as it did on TV. She's safe, though maybe in the bottom three.

2. Taylor. I loved it, especially the rough voiced parts. I like him more when he's feeling it, and he only felt it a bit.

3. Elliot. Great song, I love that one. He was very, very good, but Paula was stupid on a stick tonight. Tears? Really? Come on Paula...get a grip. Pop some pills or whatever you need. Simon laughing while she bawled was classic and good TV. Could be in danger.

4. Chris. Nice rendition but it lacked the feeling I think the song has built into it. He was very good though, a fine performance. He's safe on this one, but I didn't like it as much as Elliot's version of his song. Still top notch. Still top three in my opinion.

5. Paris. Meh, whatever. She's boring and I don't care for her voice. She's gone this week.

6. Pickle. Ouch...my dog had to run outside for that one. She sang the lesser known cover by the UnRighteous Brothers, and even did that poorly. That was terrible. The better songs she picks (Bohemian Rhapsody, Unchained Melody) the worse she sounds. Twice now she's blown it, and known it. And her saying..."awww shucks, I weren't very well done were I?" isn't getting her points. She's falling off but fast. Bottom three this week, easily. The public isn't being fooled anymore.

This crap is almost over.

I thought Chris by far had the best night. I also really liked Kat's preformance and couldn't figure out why the judges didn't care for it.

If Chris is in the bottom three, he can put the blame squarely on the American Idol production crew. WTF? They were running out of time the whole show and the judges didn't have time to say hardly anything about his preformance (and then, through the recap--which they should have cut--the judges and Seacreast's mics were still on and you could hear them talking). Someone is getting fired, I bet.

Last night stood out more for the screw ups - Paula on drugs, the talking over the first two recraps, etc.

My ratings:

1) Elliott - while it did not bring me to tears, I thought it was a very good performance.

2) Kat - I didn't see why the judges were dissing her so much - yeah, she is no Whitney, but who is? I liked the performance.

3) Chris - Good performance, pitch - kinda bland though.

4) Paris - Decent, despite the oversinging.

5) Taylor - slow songs do not do him well. And it looks like he got a little eye-brow waxing/botox.

6) Pickler - awful - ears bled for an hour after that crapfest.

PICKLE HAS LEFT THE BUILDING!

I haven't been so happy since they voted off Brenna the Witch.

I just watched both Tues. & Weds. shows (dvr). I agree with the top two--Chris & Kat. I know why both of them were top two. Kat is so damn hot, who cares what she's singing? Chris is so damn hot, and when he's staring into that camera with those big brown eyes--I forget that he's even singing at all. All kidding aside, Kat did an AWESOME job with that song, and I'm glad Simon apologized. Chris actually looked as though he HAS loved a woman. I thought he showed great emotion. And as a great guy on this board said, "I wouldn't kick him out of bed"!!!

I've always wondered this about this show; If it is a singing contest, why does everybody comment about people's look??

It's hard for me to put credibility into a show, that would kick Aretha Franklin off, the first night, for being too fat.

However has the best pipes should win this thing, not the best looking. That's like me saying I don't want to draft Cutler because I think his teeth are crooked.

Ruben Stoddard was a beast of a man, making his way to the Finals by eating all his competition (Clay Aiken was too skinny and stringy for him, I guess) and he got voted through.

Singing is most of it, looks is a small bit of it, now that we are in the video age. Aretha wouldn't be kicked off, unless she started bashing gays or something.

The fact that Elliot with his 4 rows of teeth and incredible singing voice is still in it shows that the show is still more about singing than looks.

Really? hmmm. I guess that's why I'm not a guy. I thought she was pretty hot.
Sometimes she looks really nice (almost never from a profile), but I don't think she's ever reached "hot" status in my mind.

Just me.

EDIT: I should clarify this and say that "hot" is a relative term. She's competing with "famous-hot" because she's on TV and competing to be a star. I probably wouln't kick her outta bed for eating crackers.

I wouldn't go smoking hot - but definitely very nice

a little late with all this, but god bless TiVo

Elliott is starting to win people over - i think he'll end up getting past taylor to the #3 spot

Kat is making a charge and Chris is recementing himself - i'd be shocked if they weren't the top 2

as for the performances - I really liked Elliot, Kat & Chris (probably in that order)

Next I liked Paris

Then Taylor - he finished very strong, but the entire first half of the song I wasn't digging

and finally Pickler - the song was very boring - i love this song, it's cheesy I know, but something about it i've always liked - and she killed it - she has zero range in her voice, no emotion to her singing and aside from a couple notes, it was terrible - this song wasn't meant to be sung in the octaves, pace or range she was trying to force

thank god she is gone - i thought paris was gone for sure, but thankfully the pickler can go back to abermarle north carolina with her grandpaps and wait for daddy to get out of the pen

i love the technical issues on the show - they've been really bad with the judges mics this year - even during performances (once simon asked randy "what the hell do I say to that?" after one of the performances and the mic caught it)

to me that is gold

paula is killing the show - the other judges look uncomfortable around her - i worked with a crazy person who loved pills & booze - at first it was kind of funny watching the antics - then it gets sad, depressing and you just don't want that person around - i no longer want paula around

should be a good finish to the show - singing ability does carry a lot of weight with this, but so does personality and the way people carry themselves - as with life, looks are important - however, if you think it's just looks you obviously confused Ace Young and Elliott Yamin

also - i really enjoyed bocelli on this program - i'd love to see him live

and I've seen cake - they were at the celebrity a couple months back - incredible show - they actually sounded more crisp live than on any of their discs - I wasn't the biggest fan going into that show, but they won me over

Did I miss something in this thread, or is this sort of a non-sequitor?
