Interesting night - wasn't pumped for the Elvis theme, but I thought it turned out very well

For me the star of the night is Elliott - the guy can flat out sing, if you shut your eyes and just listen to his vocal performances throughout the show, they are on point and tonight was his showcase

Next it gets a little cloudy

I like Taylor sing "In the Ghetto", but didn't care for his first selection at all

I liked Chis in his first song, displaying that polished sound that you can just hear coming through the radio - although the second song, for the most part, lacked his signature drive (which makes up for many of his pure vocal shortcomings)

Katherine, at times, was amazing - at other times it just fell apart for her - she ended the second song very poorly and during the first seemed winded before forgetting her words - but when she was on she was amazing

If I had to chose my favorites it would be elliott, chris, katherine then taylor

I think the bottom 2 will be elliott and katherine - which is sad to me, because I think they are the two top vocal talents - i enjoy listening to how they both can control their voices throughout a song

in my mind I think elliott is gone - but he chose the right way to go out

Chris and Kat will be bottom two.

I hated Elliots first song..second one was brilliant...his second best performance of the year.

Taylor was good and great, good on the first then great on the second.

Kat was good and good.

Chris was fantastic and meh. The second song was NOT him...no way did it even fit him. And he saved it a bit at the ending, until the close when he rocked it too much. It was just all over the place.

Kat will be voted off.

I like it when the final four singers can actually SING. And they all have a bit different styles, which is very cool.

I like all four. If Elliot's second song hadn't been so perfect, I'd think he'd be getting the boot. Kat will get it though (but a shocker pick could even see Chris leaving.) A lot will do with who picked up the voted off people's votes, and how everything breaks off now. I think that Chris and Taylor aren't picking up votes from the castoffs now...Elliot and Kat are (Chris and Taylor fanbase is pretty set). It remains to be seen which AI wannabe gobbled up the myguylost vote.

Kat wasn't that great on either of her songs, IMO.

Chris was good on the first one, so-so on the second one.

Taylor's first one was good, his second was great.

I thought Elliot was great on both his songs.

In the end, I think I'll make a shocking prediction that we'll see both Kat and Chris in the bottom two ;)

BTW, I've heard so much about JD Fortune, who won the INXS rock star show and how much better he is than Chris, and how Chris can't hold a candle to him in the rock genre.

I DL'd some JD songs from that competition tonight and listened...I expected to be impressed. Hey, he was singing some great, GREAT songs. California Dreaming...Dirty Vegas...etc.

I was NOT impressed. Chris is a far better singer. I couldn't put my finger on why I didn't like JD though. Something about him really bugged.

So finally, finally, Chris sang a song that JD did as well. Suspicious Minds. I must say upfront that I don't like Elvis. Not a bit. I love the Beatles with all my heart, and I love the Stones, but Elvis just does not do it for me...however, Suspicious Minds is one of my all-time favorite songs...it is fantastic. I thought Chris was fantastic on this one...just brought it. I was so eager to hear JD's rendition, since people online said it was the bomb.

It was not. It was a silly rendition of Elvis. Lounge club Elvis impersonator style.

I shook my head and said...what??

Then I read up some on JD...it seems he WAS an Elvis impersonator for awhile and then it all clicked. I didn't like his style because he has so much wannabe Elvis in him..and not the star elvis, but the Vegas lounge act Guy-kinda-like-Elvis. Yuck.

Chris would have won that INXS show hands down.

It was nice to be able to see them side by side (audio only...maybe JD was a fantastic performer, but his audio sucks).

Gave me a little happiness to think that even the better rock singer chose AI over something more attuned to the genre.

Chris may get bumped tomorrow, but I'll buy (read download) his songs.

JD is a pretender...a pretender Elvis to boot. BTW, in case you are wondering...he made California Dreaming sound like crap. I almost cried, then downloaded the original to cleanse my ears.

BTW again..I've been cruising some AI loving sites, and a lot of post-Paris posters are throwing their chips in with Elliot.

That can really sway the votes in his favor. I don't think I saw any posters say they were pre-paris, post-Chris or Kat. About 10 percent were post-paris Taylors, and the rest were post-paris Elliot.

yamin may win this thing yet.

Question: If he wins, and they try to fix those shark teeth, will it destroy his amazing voice?

Dialidol supposedly has Chris and Katharine far below Taylor and Elliott.

Elliott was the bomb last night. Kid finally came through for a solid night. Last week was good for him but he did wonders last night.

Which to me is something, because for me Taylor's "In the Ghetto" performance was his second best he's ever done.

Both Chris and Katharine dropped the ball last night and both deserve to be in the bottom 2, with Katharine getting the boot.

My Cox cable got disconnected due to my impending move, so I missed the show. Guess I will catch the results show tonight.

Abomb, you can watch the performances from last night's show at rickey.org if you are interested.

You can even download MP3 versions of last night's performances and past performances from this season.

Cool. Thanks. I will check it out after work. :)

I am in utter disbelief. No Way should Katharine have beaten Chris. This sucks so bad. I hope they have a "bring back one that was voted off" but it's a little late in the season for that, isn't it? I've never watched AI before this season.

This sucks.

Not so shocking. At least not to me.

Still, I think his Suspicious Minds performance was fan-freaking-tastic.

Somebody had to go; I really can't pick one of them that was bad...it's all coming down to how votes get picked up.

NOW, who get's Chris' voting block?

From the buzz on the Chris forums around the 'net, I would venture to guess that about 1/2 of the Chris fans will now vote for Elliot, 1/4 will split between Kat and Tay, and the other 1/4 won't be voting at all.

my wife will probably shift to elliott

kind of suprising - but not shocking

i think the only thing this really does for or against him is set up a clay aiken type legal fight where some other label tries to grab the promotion

he'll be fine

He's probably already signed as we speak. Dude is good.

I thought part of the deal w/AI is that you can't sign a deal for a specific amount of time with anyone else? (someone referred to a "clay aiken legal battle") anyone know the specifics?

I don't think I'll even watch anymore. I can't vote for someone I can't stand to watch (Elliott and Taylor) and Kat is gone next week for sure. 2nd week in a row in the bottom 2--she's a goner.

It looked like Chris was punched in the gut. Ryan didn't really beat around the bush when he told him he was out. Chris went from grinning like an idiot to stunned in about a half-second.

Here's an out-there prediction for you: Chris is the next singer for Van Halen.

That was a jacked up way to eliminate him...

"hey chris, a lot of people predicted you would win this whole thing...but guess what, you're going home."

That was a little too much IMO.

Plus, having Taylor sing a song (and not even the GOOD song he sang the night before) was a little too much from the producers to say "well, now that Chris is out, let's make sure Taylor wins it."

Taylor is my guy, has been from the start. Chris was my 1b, even though I bagged on him a lot in my recaps, I thought it would and should have been him and Taylor at the end. However, I love Kat and Elliot both, and I voted for Kat only last night knowing it would probably end Chris' run if Kat made it. But in my view, Chris will get a major deal no matter what, and Kat and Elliot need a bit more run.

Taylor wins this thing in a walk. I thought so early on, but even more so now that Chris is gone.

The only challenge left is Elliot, whose voice is incredible but he has very little stage presence and my GOD those teeth.

I would go to a Taylor concert...and expect to be entertained. I bet I'd be right to think so.
