oh, that sucks.. looks like i picked a good week to not watch it....

And I, the guy who rarely watches, happened to tune in. Kelly's performance was fantastic though, but overall I was just killing time until Lost. And AI is way too full of itself...I can't stand it. Nice of them to make some money, but they in general just bug the crap out of me these days...crap talent and still dominate ratings.

D--I thought you didn't watch the show?

I don't, not much at least. We were killing time before Lost at a friends house that does watch the show, and fast forwarded through most of it except Josh Groban and Kelly Clarkson's performances.

I sometimes have it on in the background at my house because it's decent TV for the kids to watch, so I've heard and seen some of the singers, but I don't "watch."

Nobody. They had Jordin and Chris in the bottom two. Told Chris he was safe. Paused and then told Jordin she was safe. She was bawling.

Everybody is safe. Two go home next week.

Their really wasn't a bottome two. Ryan said at the beginning that the names were in random order...no top 3 and no bottom 3. I personally think that Lakisha and Chris probably had the lowest vote totals.

Nonetheless they made Jordin think she was eliminated.

i don't see how what they did last night and any other week on this show is different. they always play that angle of making you think that someone is going home. even if they didn't let anyone go last night - the principle is still the same.

Just didn't like the way that played out.

It was a wonderful night filled with millions of dollars of donations and publicity for some good causes.

And yet they end by giving somebody the impression she was eliminated when they had no intentions of eliminating anybody at all. Could've easily told both her and Chris they are safe nobody is going home until next week.

The tact was lame.

They do the play on words thing all the time when doing eliminations, but this one was different. They left her standing alone, no play on words, just a moment in time where she, her family, and the audience were given the impression she was booted before Ryan tells us nobody is going home.

Jordin was in shambles after that.

boo hoo

they do this all the time - long pauses, cutting to break, leading the person one way to flip them the other - they've even done stuff like this before

the fact that she was crying was great for them and great television

why haven't you complained for the past 4 years about this stuff?!

yeah - bono showed up

not giving him crap for showing compassion - just stating that it really isn't over the line

thne program plays with emotions - always has - making someone think they are voted off and then keeping them is done pretty frequently and is much less severe than some of the stuff they do in the audition rounds

you know what you are signing up for by now - it's a manufactured show that will do what it takes to create drama and ratings - deal with it
