Oh man I really hope he's not as insecure as Shaq was.

I guess I remember Shaq more favorably.

Ayton seems like a happy person and he wants to share it. I like that. He is especially proud of his Bahamian, Nigerian and Jamaican ancestry. He impressed me when he said he wants to bring basketball back to the Bahamas and represent a brand of shoes his countryman can afford.

He is talking about opening basketball schools in the Bahamas like he attended here in Phoenix, in order to make it more accessible. He is quite bright.

I'm actually kind of glad Embiid is challenging Ayton like that. Hopefully he takes it the right way and proves him wrong. I think it's safe to assume he'll play quality defense when we meet the Sixers. Could be a solid rivalry building with the Bridges trade also. I want to see Ayton run away with the Rookie of the Year and call Embiid out for it. He couldn't win despite being in the league for 2 seasons on the bench and with trainers before he ever played. Then he only played in 34 games in his 3rd season/rookie year.

The sooner Ayton realizes the NBA is a wolf pit the better. I don’t have a problem with what Embiid did.

In the first paragraph I was congratulating JC about his avatar... Bridges.

In the 2nd paragraph I was talking about Ayton.

Ok, apologies, I read the post wrong. I see the error in my ways now.

I may need to change my avatar also but I don't want to drop an emoji on Okobo's head, maybe I'll find a good Knight picture for that.

I get the good Shaq vibe from him. But to be honest... I can see him having the other side as well.

But as long as he brings the same level of talent and dominance, I could give a crap!

Watch the presser. When one of the media called him Joel by mistake, he was stone-faced. Keep watching. There was a fire there. This kid is not just happy-go-lucky. Start watching at about 21:10. That is a game face right there.

Nope, don't think so. I'm up for another change but I'm not sure if I can have two voting sessions like the last one. I think I'm stuck with "Poop Head" unless I pay to change it. I can live with it. I was hoping initial's would stick, like P.H. as sort of a way to reference me but the only thing other than "Poop Head" I've gotten has been "Poop" , "Poopie", and someone called me "Turd" a couple of times shortly after the change but that was just 2-3 times. I'd be OK with "Turd Ferguson".

Dude, Be grateful for what you have. If you changed it to Turd Ferguson, people gonna just be calling you Turd. No one's gonna take the time to write out both names.

I'm not ungrateful, I'm responding to his question. I didn't say anything about disliking it, wishing for a change, or anything like that. I said I would change it but that doesn't really say much since I acknowledged it's unlikely I could.

Seriously, my handle is "Poop Head", I haven't complained about it, at all. How many people would be accepting that? Especially since it's been over a year now.

grateful was the wrong word... my bad. was just offering a little careful what you wish for advice re: Turd Ferguson. I'd rather be called Poophead than Turd, personally.

to be honest... I'd say most people on this board would accept it. You kinda have to if you put it up to a vote! Just ask Assface, Ouchie and all the others who ever put their name up for board debate. If you're NOT expecting your name to ultimately be the most immature choice possible, you're in the wrong place! :D

My 2 favorite parts of that video are Mikal's reaction to Ayton being call Joel and Kokoskov discussing his invitation to Sean Miller where he explains he is always open to learning what he can from other coaches and how he encourages his staff to do the same.

There is obviously a chemistry between those two. Wow. Ayton is an alpha. No doubt about that. Just how he carries himself. Not one bit of reserve. He has a swagger.

I'm glad we agree on this but like Shaq, I think his nice guy persona leaves once he on the court.

Been a long time since we’ve seen you. What are your thoughts on the draft and state of the team?

I've posted a bit sporadically. Honestly my views are typically inline with phrazbit and he does a better job of articulating them.

Very excited about the draft. Going in I didn't think there was any chance the Suns would keep their top 3 picks which worried me because I really like this draft class, so the fact they ended up keeping the picks and getting guys I really liked is fantastic.

I feel the talent disparity between Mikal and the guys available at 16 warranted the cost it took to move up. Like others I fantasized about moving up for Doncic and Young, but I think Bridges is the best complimentary piece in the draft for what the Suns already have +Ayton. I also disagree with the narrative that McDonough was so willing to include that because he may not be here in 2021. If he was in desperation win now mode he would have used it for expiring/overpaid vets not on another rookie.

Had the Suns kept 16 I would have been pretty disappointed with Divincenzo. Picking him there would of felt a lot like the Cards giving a big contract to Dexter Jackson after winning Super Bowl MVP. I probably would have gone either Okobo or Walker at 16 and hoped to get Okogie at 31. Okobo was my 2nd favorite PG in the draft after only Young, not because I knew a great deal about him but because what I did know seemed a lot more appealing that what I saw out of Sexton or SGA. Also Divincenzo at 16 likely also means the Suns likely don't go Okobo at 31.

When Watson was initially fired Messina and Blatt were my top choices for next HC. However as the HC search started Kokoskov was the guy I wanted so I'm glad we got him, even if I head to sweat out a Kidd interview. Finding out more about his background and having him linked to our last good teams and also having him interested in the job even after living through the Babby/Blanks dumpster fire made him an ideal candidate for me.

I expect a lot of activity once FA starts. Not counting the new picks I feel like only Booker and Josh Jackson are locks to be on the team when the season starts.

The dexter Jackson analogy is a good one. I couldn’t quite put my finger on what it was with the potential DiVincenzo selection that bothered me, but that’s likely it.

And while I agree with you that mcd’s timeline could be helped more with vets, I think it still serves to undermine his value of the Miami pick.
