Really.. Ok ya.. The first quarter sucked.. But the only reason we were in this game for a little while was because of the defense..

Why does this tough talking media ***** refuse to believe his offense sucks?

Theres a reason when we were looking for a new head coach everyone passed on him and we were stuck with him..

If he did I hope we blow a 21 point lead next week without giving up an offensive TD so we can run his over the hill butt out of town.

Defense has been the only thing that's made this team watchable this season. And last, and the year before that...

There's a reason Arians is 700 years old and never had a HC job in the NFL before.

I'm so glad the Chargers passed on him. I thought we were gonna bring him in when we hired the Colts assistant manager as our GM but we dodged the bullet.

Arians seems like a nice guy to his players and everything so he might make a better assistant coach/dad to these players than a head coach.

I honestly don't see any difference between Arians and Whisenhunt. It's the same piss poor offense spurred by awful QB play.

The D is the only thing even the most desperately optimistic Cardinal can cling to.

So far Arians and all his big talk is a big joke.

Should we call him Whisrians or Arianhunt? I'm leaning towards Bruce WhisAgain

The other thing is damn this game was pretty much the season. You go 0-3 in the division with losses to SF and SEA and its basically a wrap. This team came out flat as **** in the biggest game of the year, especially on the offensive side of the ball.

How does some of that NOT fall on the HC??

I thought the defense came out even flatter... that first drive Seattle hit a couple of wide open guys for 20+ yard gains and made a TD look easy. Our secondary scheming needs a lot of work.. I don't know what's going on back there, but I know it's not good. When our receivers catch footballs, there is always a defender draped over their back. When opposing receivers catch a ball, there is often nobody within 5-10 yards.

Well the HC oversees both the O and D, no?

It all falls on the HC. He's not making the proper adjustments. Just because Bowels runs the defense doesn't mean Arians can't tell him to make adjustments. He also didn't seem to get the team fired up for the game, as you mentioned BOTH sides came out flat. They should have been fired up and ready to destroy... and it's the HC's job to put that motivation into them..

I had a coach once that before an important game he just told the team.... go out there and win me this game. That was all that was needed. The team responded, they wanted to win for the coach, and we did. It wasn't a pep talk, it was an order. Win. This team seemed to have that in the first couple of games.. but I think Arians has lost a lot of respect already for his boneheaded and stubborn decisions on the field.

I didn't see the game, I was out and totally forgot the short week. But, last week and several prior to that it seems the majority consensus was that the playbook was too difficult and needed to be dumbed down. The defense was playing lights out. Then last week it appeared the D, after the Fitz fumble threw in the towel.
Did it look like any of this carried over to this game? If yes the season is over.

I think the defense played hard and made some big plays. It certainly wasn't to blame for this loss. BUT they are pathetic at OLB, the corner opposite Peterson and safety, simply dreadful. The d-line and ILB put some heat on Wilson which was good to see (maybe shows how sucky THEIR o-line is).

At any rate, the defense has issues but, so far, this season the offense is the same as the last 3 years. Different coach, different QB same result. Putridification at its best.

70 yards of total offense in the first half is not the defenses fault.
This. Offense stinks

I don't have a link but they had a sound bite of the Coach on 620 this morning. (Paraphrasing) They asked what his biggest disappointment was and he said "The defense. They didn't start playing their game until later in the game. You can't spot a team like Seattle 14 points and then play better later in the game"

To be fair every OLB we have got hurt but we weren't particularly good before that anyways.

CB and S totally agree. I don't care how much money we saved dumping Wilson and Rhodes it was stupid to dump both. One yeah, both horrible idea.

I know that Rashad has half a finger but he played like half a player last night he can't tackle.

PP, Honey, CC, D Wash, Dan that's the core of the defense next year with hopefully Minter and a pass rusher and then add some pieces. And Dansby if he still wants to play he's been very good given the mileage on his tires.

Until a quote can be provided where arians says I blame this on the D, the thread title should be changed IMO.

If this is true then he needs to be asked shouldn't the same thing be said about the offense and turning the ball over early in the game and its inability to get a first down if its greater than 10 yards. IF he really made this comment after the defense bailed out the offense last week holding the 49ers to 2 FGs then I have lost any and all respect I may have had for him.
