When investigating an incident aren't you supposed to throw out any bias or preconceived ideas based on past cases and simply rely on the evidence at hand? Look at the individuals involved, his/her rap sheets, pending court cases, etc. to get a feel for who they are and who is likely telling the truth?

One can't justify DWash's actions because "in this other situation THIS happened." We must deal with this situation on its own.

Nope. In domestic issues you ABSOLUTELY take past history in hand especially when it relates to a battery and no witnesses are present. I can take a picture of the report for you it is listed as one of the factors in developing PC for an arrest.

Prior DV history only is to be taken into account nothing else.

Then you look at likelihood of the story based on injuries present and listen to both sides and determine which side seems to be more plausible. You fill out a report and make a mandatory arrest if there was a battery that occurred. You are also to make a decision on arrest by the severity of injuries. As soon as she broke her collar bone Dwash was going to jail no questions asked. Even if it was a legitimate push in self defense.

In many many cases when you can't determine who you feel was the primary aggressor you arrest both parties and let them hash it out in court.

I am not talking about the history of those involved. I am talking about all the experiences you have had with other couples. You can't simply say "It was probably self defense because I've seen a lot of women that don't know when to leave their man alone and push it too far."

All the examples you have thrown out there have no bearing on this case. We have to deal with these individuals, their history, and what happened according to the evidence. Correct?

Clearly you aren't following. I already said those specific examples have ZERO bearing here. Said it when Cheese brought it up.

That is a different debate entirely in reference to 82's belief that a woman should never ever be pushed, hit, punched, smacked, assaulted etc…. under ANY circumstance.

Ah, okay. Cool. I've been out for a bit. I'll have to catch up.

I am sure there are some extreme cases. Obviously there are situations where the woman is the aggressor in DV situations and the men are truly the victims. I doubt many of these cases have ever involved world class athletes in top shape.

What if you are a fat old fool like me and the woman is the world class athlete in top shape? Heck, I wouldn't want to have Jersey mad at me. :p

Negative… I probably wouldn't pay it any attention whatsoever. But if I did I would say the same thing. Obviously this is followed more closely because he is one of ours and I enjoy watching him play.

Just a tad sexist are you?

The poor inferior sex is all I'm hearing in that post.

The idea that this woman isn't physically inferior then a star NFL ILB is beyond laughable. Give me a break. This isn't sexist...it's reality that Washington is a beast compared to almost anyone, man or woman.

You don't get to choose who you get attacked by, I'm with you Cheese in the common sense way and I get it. But homie doesn't get off on beating women which is what we are talking about here. Dude had a moment, literally a moment to act to something and he let frustration or something control his body. I don't think he was like 'Yo bitch, Im gonna beat you down" He didn't drive a white bronco or have a full on women beating facility. He got rich, and already had a baby with Lord knows who. I love to throw hands, my Lady knows this. I have never put my hands on my Lady but she's never jumped me, if that happened I imagine I would try to get her off me and get away, like when Dems finds me at a bar, painlessly. My woman is my better half though, I'm picky and wasn't young when I found her, took me along time to figure out what's good in a woman. I've been lucky but D-Wash is on a different path. Needs to learn how to turn it off, surround himself with kindness, and I think he can with maturity.

Err, what?

I'm not talking specifics about this woman compared to DWASH. I'm saying that it's a pretty old-fashioned and slightly sexist attitude to take that it's worse to hit a woman than a man. It should be deemed just as bad either way.

disagree 100% but maybe I am old fashioned. It is always worse to hit a woman than a man.

I'm like that too but some people aren't raised that way. And to be fair some of the younger women wouldn't even respect a dude who just walked away. I can get all Socrates on my wife and she respects that but some chicks want Mike Tyson with a piece of Hollyfield's ear hangin' out his mouth.

I'm with you BRR. I was raised to respect a woman and to never ever hit one. If attacked by one it's a different story and then only to defend yourself and nothing more. If a woman attacks you with her fists just fend her off using defensive tactics but by no means hit in retaliation.

Ditto.

Don't know wtf is driving the opposite approach.

I honestly don't understand how a man could look at himself i the mirror after decking a woman...
Yea, look at me! I punched a woman.. Who else wants a piece of me baby!! :lame:

Some women are so evil that they can drive a man to do the unthinkable. I was raised with 7 sisters & I was told that I could NEVER, NEVER hit them. And I never did, even though they knew the house rules & antagonized me every chance they could.

My first wife had a prior marriage end when her husband got physical with her. While we were married, this woman drove me to the brink of insanity & I put my fist through a few walls to avoid her. After we split, she remarried & that marriage also ended with her getting beat up. Over the years, I've gotten to know each of these ex-husbands. Neither had ever hit a woman in their life & both have since remarried & have great families. They both regret what they did, but both agreed that that woman just drove them to the point of insanity.

I'm not condoning any of this, but we really don't know what happened behind closed doors in that case. I'll let the courts pass judgment, because there are always crazy variables involved.
