I'm pro Kyler if he gets his head right. If he does that, he has the chance to be something special, and become one of the all time greats. If he doesn't--and I don't have a lot of faith, after his reaction to his godawful ending to the season--he'll never amount to anything in the league but a few gaudy stats. So, no pressure, Kyler lol

That's what's so frustrating. He has A grade physical talent but D grade everything else.

Meh. I would give him a solid B grade physical talent wise. Now, if he was 6'3" or 6'4" and 220-235 lbs. (I consider size part of physical talent, especially at QB), then it would be an A for me. His stature just doesn't scream longevity to me based on his career so far. Just my perspective, you can flame away.

Fair. Height aside he has a great arm and play making ability with his feet. Just drags himself with his attitude, body language, film study, leadership etc.

His play making ability with his feet is also a bit of his Achille's Heel sometimes :)

I think the end of season collapse was 60% Kyler. He just failed to make some of the wow plays consistently.

He has to play better down the stretch. I think what a lot of people are missing, is that Michael was mad at Kyler. That's why we saw Kingsbury and Keim get extensions. Cardinals leadership very much believes what I do.
I believe this conspiracy even if I don't agree with it. I feel like the extensions to Keim and Kliff were Bidwill's message to Kyler. Figure out how to work with these guys because they aren't going anywhere.

he has a share -- but i dont think its 60%. Im closer to 20%

there were throws in the last 7 weeks that he missed that earlier in the year he had made: AJ Green vs Rams at home for a TD. Same game he had Rondale Moore deep on a wheel route where the ball was a foot out out of bounds.

But what also happened during the last 7 weeks was Hop was out. The OL regressed significantly. The D went from top 5 to bottom 5.

the QB gets too much credit when things work / too much blame when they dont.

the reality is this: Kyler isnt at the stage in his development where he can put an offense on his back and win games consistently. That doesnt mean he isnt a top 10 QB.
You are 100% wrong on this.

as for the second part, being a top 10 QB ABSOLUTELY means you can put an offense on your back and win games.

This has been the dumbest off-season I could imagine. From keeping the same coaches to the extensions for Kliff and Keim to the dumb stuff with Kyler to overpaying our own FAs (those Gardeck and Conner contracts kill me) to essentially sitting out free agency, I really don't see how this could have gone worse.

I am starting to move past the anger phase and just accepting the fact that this franchise is broken again.

If he was 6'3 he would be A++++++++. He would be by far the greatest qb physically of all time.

List of NFC Starting QBs

Carson Wentz
Dak Prescott
Daniel Jones
Jalen Hurts
Aaron Rodgers
Krik Cousins
Jared Goff
Justin Fields
Tom Brady
Jameis Winston
Marcus Mariota
Sam Darnold
Matt Stafford
Trey Lance
Drew Lock
Kyler Murray

We have arguably the 4th best QB in the NFC. Punting our roster this year is a hell of a gamble.

Yeesh, that is an UGLY list! There are only 3 QBs I'd definitely take over KM, warts and all, and they're all old. And yes, that makes our Dollar Bill approach to this FA period inexcusable.

Note: Dollar Bill approach means going after bargain-basement signings, not being cheap with money.

The lack of urgency around the offensive line is the thing that is most disturbing.

Yet they have managed to be frivolous by overpaying their own free agents. Seriously, who are we bidding against for Gardeck? And why? How can you ignore the O-line and pay a soon to be 27-year-old RB who averaged a career worst YPC and is known for his physical play, which notoriously ends RB's careers early? Keim is putting on a masters class in incompetence.

"top flight" and "top 10" are different definitions

here are top 10 QBs in rough order:
  • Mahomes
  • Allen
  • Rogers
  • Burrow
  • Herbert
  • Stafford
  • Brady
  • Wilson
  • Prescott
  • Murray
tell me who knocks Kyler off the list. Derek Carr maybe?? All of those QBs can put a team on their back on win games consistently?

Finally, as a thought experiment: Compare the Cards non-QB offensive players to the other NFC divisional round teams during December 2021: TB, LAR, SF, GB. Is there a position group on the Cards that compares favorably to those teams? Heck, how many wouldn't rank last relative to those?

Our offensive players compared to just about ANY other team is deplorable. That’s what makes this off season so frustrating. In fact the last 3 years should have been dedicated to stacking this offense with as much talent as we could. Nobody complained about our defense when we were scoring 35 pts a game.
