If Walker gets the win today, ARZ will have 4 SP's with at least 10 wins in the same season, not sure if that's ever happened before in the modern baseball era. If Godley can somehow get 2 more wins in before end of regular season that would be first time in history, right?xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media
voodooI don't know how Walker got out of the inning with only 1 run.

Walker is not a solid pitcher.
Not the only one to have more HR's than (opponents) hits. The only 4 HR's in a game hitter to have more HR's than the opponent had hits. The heck if I know. I just found it odd they said it too. They all said it like he was the only one to have more HR's than hits in any game. We know that's not right. The ESPN link cleared it up. I guess it did.
I see your point and I know the cities are spread out more than in the old days, but those guys had to rides on buses back then and they somehow did it. Today's player ride in luxury and stay in first class hotels. Guys like Mantle and his teammates drank all night and never worked out. Oh well, it's all relative I suppose.Take it from someone who travels a TON for work... flying, changing time zones, sleeping in hotels, eating restaurant food... it takes a heavy toll on your body and mind. Of course, being young and in top condition helps a great deal. But mentally, emotionally, the schedule is arguably the toughest aspect of MLB. And when games matter and the pressure is amped up, the mental stress is amplified. I have always been amazed at how MLB players and coaches are able to handle the schedule... 162 games, half of which are on the road... I believe it averages out to be something like 15 games a month a team is on the road. And of course, it's not like 15 games all in one place, like in SF, or LA, or Denver... it's 15 games spread out among 2, 3 or 4 different cities and time-zones. It's nuts really.
