Even in last night's game, I thought Foles arm strength was suspect. Most deep balls had lost all their zip long before they reached their targets. He played good, and is better than many qbs who are starting. But if I were hoping to find that stud QB for my team, I would hope to find someone with a stronger arm. Unless I am totally misreading Foles arm strength, he is not the QB the Cards typically would prefer.

I am warming to this idea Mitch. Foles was lights out last night and against the Vikes. If McCoy can emulate what Pederson and Reich did it could work. Foles showed me a lot the last few games.

With Cousins you only pay through Cap space. With Foles you pay through trade capital and cap space (As a reasonable assumption, Foles will wants an extension to sign with Cardinals no?). #WhyAreWeLosingMindsOverFoles?
Actually, he has a team option for 3 years if picked up. Obviously, PHI has to pick it up to trade him. He could want the deal re-worked but he has no leverage as it’s not a player option.

the contract only voids if he is on the iggles roster... if he is traded those last three years come into effect

Oh Ok. Ben Volin is reporting something similar. I am still not clear if contract voids if he is traded to another team as well

Foles makes sense. Yes he would cost the 1st Rd. Pick.

Maybe we could get him and a mid Rd. Pick back.

He wpuld be cheaper to sign then Cousins, so maybe they could still address other FA's; OL.

This. Well, not only this, but I have no interest in trading our top pick for a guy who has struggled mightily at times - when given the keys to the car in our own division, he crumbled.

Admittedly, his last two games were incredible. But really, he's run hot and cold throughout his career and I'd rather pay Cousins or suck it up with a rookie than deal with a guy who is going to jump between brilliance and atrocity on any given Sunday.
Struggled playing for Jeff Fisher. Who's the last QB that didn't struggle playing for that bozo?

Two exceptional games, one good game and a pro bowl season. Following his Pro Bowl season Chop Kelly went full ****** into his own stupid system that didn't match Nick's skill set. From there he was stuck with Jeff Fisher, ruiner of QB's, and then went to KC where Alex Smith was the absolute starter.

If ever there was a guy that could claim to be the victim of circumstance, its Foles.
He only played 8 games that year and the team went 6-2 in those games. He threw more picks than the previous year, but was still on pace for over 4000 yds until he broke his collar bone.

Some of this. More of Eagles do have the best 53 man roster in the league and it's not close.
Maybe, but they lost their franchise QB, LT and MLB as well.

My conclusion: You can do much worse than Nick Foles, and truth be told, I'm not sure I'd 100% take Cousins over Foles and I could probably sign Foles to a cheaper contract. McCoy has proven to get the most out of many QBs with whom he's worked, and I have no doubt that Foles would continue to improve under his tutelage.

My reasonable offer to the Eagles for Foles:

2018 second-round and fifth-round picks
2019 conditional second-round pick, that elevates to a first-round pick if Nick Foles makes the Pro Bowl in 2018.

I think Cards should pursue trading for Foles. Not sure what it would really take. Keim should go ahead and kick the tires.

I think I’d go this year’s 2 and one of our 3rd round comp picks.

Your memory serves better than mine, I forgot he broke his collar bone.

You guys are talking me into this. Still leery of trading 15 for him though.

I’m also nervous Foles would turn into another Flacco.

I would be a little more stingy with this years picks. we have serious need for an interior lineman and a WR

I don't think that's enough ammo, particularly with how much market value he has right now.

Both 3rds... or this year’s 2nd and next year’s 2nd. Bumping next year’s up to a 1 pending a pro bowl gives me pause.

If we trade a 1st round pick for Foles, I'm going to go out and start kicking stray kittens.

Foles was awesome in the Super Bowl, he deserved the MVP. That said I am not making an emotional decision and offering our number 1 pick. The Eagles' supporting cast is really good. The offensive line, RB's and receivers are arguably the best in the league and that takes a lot of pressure of the QB.

I would offer our third, and possibly offer a second round pick if that gets it done. If someone else gets him, then we still benefit with one less QB taker in the draft. I would prefer Baker Mayfield, Josh Rosen, and Sam Darnold over him. I doubt we can stall until then, but would feel horrible if we missed out on one of them because we sent our pick for Foles.

The risk you take when you trade/sign a QB. Same goes with drafting one in the first. It's a hell of an investment for something that's far from a guarantee, but in order to be a relevant team, you have to have a quarterback, and few teams luck into that situation.

Is that what Minny had at the beginning of the season? Or Philly, for that matter? How about the Rams?

You have to have A quarterback, but having a great quarterback is neither necessary nor sufficient, and last night illustrated that.

But the risk is lower if u sign a qb who won the superbowl and got the MVP
