Hasn't Herb learned his lesson about taking K's frontcourt rejects?

Rather than this sort of analysis, why don't you tell us how UofA is always going to be an elite college program because they hired Sean Miller?

I just don't see the reason for excitement over recruiting a sophomore who's averaging 2/2 and can't get off the bench. Just because a kid went to Duke doesn't mean he's good - especially big men who K has notoriously struggled in evaluating recently.

Regarding Miller, his and Arizona's future ultimately depends on how he finishes up recruiting the 2010 class. He did recruit and develop the Pac-10 FOY but has struggled in other areas most notably getting Nic Wise to take his game to the next level. And for all of your and your buddy's cockiness over the struggles of UA Hoops you should take a long look at each team's respective RPI. Your Devils are in just as poor of shape to make the NCAA Tournament as UA.

Our RPI may not be where it needs to be, but we just beat a ranked team by 17, and UofA just lost AGAIN at home...

We may not be a lock for the tournament, but UofA will need a PAC-10 tournament victory for a seat, if ASU plays the way they played last night, and finishes around 23-8/22-9, heading into the tournament, barring a first round loss, ASU will get in....

Again, not saying ASU is a top prgram or we have a great team, but saying we are as poor as UofA is just not a true statement...

Duke actually has a lot of front court depth and talent right now which is why this kid hasn't played much. Again, its not like he's Boateng who was highly evaluated based on his size alone. This kid is clearly athletic and could make a difference for a program like ASU. Is he the James Harden of the low post? No, probably not. But he certainly seems to have higher upside than guys like Pateev, Rhode, and probably Bachinsky, so why wouldn't ASU be bending over backwards to try to get him? Especially since he'd be eligible for Pac 10 play next year and next year ASU is really going to be hurting for big men.

GREAT win again today for the Devils... I am soo impressed with Lockett, and the way he seems to be getting better with each game..

Boetang also had a strong game, and once again the Devils Defense stood up and kept the Cougars to 36 points UNDER their season average..

Back to back outstanding overall performances, coming after that debacle some called a game in SoCal...

Very impressed..:D

ASU has had 3 blowouts in a row since Herb adjusted the offense and opened things up a good bit. Thats encouraging to see, his team this year is more athletic than its been in his tenure at ASU and its good to see him taking advantage of that.

wooow.. ASU is BALLIN right now... Kuskisks had 25, Abbott with 16, and Freshman stud Lockett had chipped in with 9....

I actually asked a question in a a chat with ESPN's Jow Lunardi about ASU's chances, and he responded with ASU needs to do something that seperates itself as a top team in the PAC-10...

I would say 3 straight wins by 17 points or more is a good START... and they lead the nation in total defense which is always an impressive feat...

Gotta say after the USC game, which I still say I have seen middle school kids play more effeciently, the light has come on, and the Devils are ROLLING! :D

Like what, not lose at home by 50 to Seattle? ASU is not a great team and if they make it to the tourney I suspect they won't do very well at all but they've still got a heck of a chance to (finally) be Pac 10 champs this year just because the conference is so weak.

Tough game against OSU today. Ty was the only one hitting anything. OSU's D was really pressuring the Devil's up top and there wasn't an answer for it most of the second half. Fortunately the D, while not great, played well enough to hold on in the second half.

4 wins in a row and currently in 1st place!

At least the Devils are giving us something to be excited about right now... The offense really does rely on Abbot's production. When he's not hitting his shots, we are in trouble.

I would add Kuksiks to that. When both are on, we blow teams out. When only one is on, it's usually a nail biter and if both are off we're screwed.

Sweeping the Oregon schools makes up for failing to get a W on the LA trip. At least, that's how I look at it.

The thing people have to know about this game against OSU is that McMillian didn't play tonight. The pressure OSU threw at us at midcourt I think would have been dealt with a lot better had he played. Having two solid ball handlers on the court at the same time is crucial in breaking down that pressure. Ty and Kuks were relegated to that job, and we almost paid for it. But I agree with AJ, the sweep makes up for the two losses in LA. Bring on the Rats. Time to make it 6-0.

Yeah MAT 210 with Igor...lol...Fulman. It's funny because his accent is what you'd expect, which sucks for a math class.

yea, my 210 teacher had an accent too. Indian guy, funny as hell, but it takes a while to get used to the accent.

Dominating Stanford today...5-4 is not the start I hoped for, but we're still in good position to take the conference. Can't have any more hiccups against the worst teams..

Really? Assuming Cal wins tomorrow they'll have a two game lead with the tiebreaker and a home game against ASU. The UA/Cal essentially decides the Pac-10 Championship, if Cal wins they're going to coast to the #1 seed at Staples. If Arizona pulls off the upset then ASU has a chance although still unlikely as Cal appears to be clearly the best team in the conference.

Yes, I don't think one team is that far ahead of anyone this year so I don't believe that game decides anything just yet.

Question...if Cal does win the conference and another team wins the Pac-10 tourney, are they really going to have two of these teams in the tournament?

i think it depends on who would win the tourney. if one of the much lower teams like the Oregon schools win it, i think that would be a point to just how terrible the pac is and then only one team would get in.
