Do any of you think Cueto is worth that kind of money? I feel like we'd regret the signing by July. I know we are desperate for an ace but it needs to be the right guy on the right contract.

Then you have to trade the farm for someone like Gray.

Plenty of names being thrown around.

Names made public: Shelby Miller, Sonny Gray (fat chance), Danny Salazar

Guys who can be available IMO: Julio Teheran, Carlos Carrasco, Jose Fernandez

Braves want Pollock and Blair for Miller and Arodys Vizciano.

no thanks, I wouldn't even trade just Pollock for those 2, not to mention Blair.

They are over asking, i'm thinking they feel comfortable considering the way they got Touki

Just gave names, didn't say they were gonna come cheap. ARZ is gonna have to pay a hefty price (money or prospects) to get good young pitching. It's a seller's market folks and teams are going to take advantage of that with their asking prices.

Olney says they're still pushing for Shelby Miller. Damn if they could get him while keeping Pollock.

I'm curious to see what Cueto gets now. Multiple teams now facing plan B's may drive his price up.

They need an OF bat, doubt they would want either Inciarte or Peralta and we don't have a stud OF prospect close to the majors. I wonder what they would want for Teheran, he would be a solid #2 if he can stay healthy.

Peralta's bat is legit, 6th in the NL in OPS last year, legit All-Star caliber numbers. He is also under club control for 5 more years, the next two years he isn't even arbitration eligible. IMO he should command a ton of value.

I hope you're right, maybe ATL will take him for Teheran.

I'd hate to see Peralta go. We need his LH bat. (I am partial to lefty hitters.) But if it brings in a 1A starting pitcher, do it!

Even though I just don't see Tomás as our 3rd outfielder of the future. Perhaps O'Brien is ready to fill that role.

Heard some interesting insight on Leake... He obviously went to ASU. He keeps a home here in Phoenix. His financial advisor is also here on the valley and is also Greinke's advisor. Apparently, it's definitely a plus that Greinke is now a Dback. No guarantee... and Leake's value has risen to the 5 year / $80 million level which, IMHO is absurd... but ya never know...

Diamondbacks are looking to trade for a pitcher. AJ won't be traded but Drury could be involved in any trade.

@Buster Olney
Source said this morning pegged odds of a Jose Fernandez trade at 1%. Now: "I'd push that into the 40s(%)." MIA can get a lot in return.

@Jayson Stark
Hearing tonight that Marlins think they're making progress with unspecified team. But a deal still appears unlikely https://twitter.com/buster_espn/status/67401

It seems they are all over the place looking for another SP.

They are still interested in Leake, Maeda and now it looks like they've inquired about Wily Peralta of MIL.

Now that they gave up their 1st rounder, I would take a look at Gallardo, he might not be as expensive as what else is remaining on the market. Also, haven't heard any rumblings regarding bullpen targets or a closer.

If they can trade for a legit #2 they should be in contention for at least the next 3-4 years.
IMO that's worth giving up top prospects.
