I hope Allen sticks, he has 3 pt range and does the dirty work on D.... D Lee and Wainright are roster lint and can be flushedLittle is basically Okogie with a jump shot. Allen is a dirty player but I think he’ll be perfect in his role here. We will definitely be hated. Wow.
Yeah, I don't think that's trueIf Devin Booker didn't want this to be - this wouldn't be
If Kevin Durant didn't want this to be - this wouldn't be
If Frank Vogel didn't want this to be - this wouldn't be
Truth is DeAndre Ayton can't be depended on - and everyone mentioned above needs players they can depend on if we're going to win a championship
We needed to dump him and his salary - I'm not going over his issues anymore - you're welcome - he's gone and it's thankfully time to move on
But if there's 5 minutes left in a close and important game I'll take Nurkic > Ayton 10 times out of 10 - because this isn't 3 years ago - and it looks like our superstars - coaching staff - management and owner agree with me
We got good value
I do think they were exploring trade options early on. But not that they necessarily did it publicly. That stuff gets leaked all the time by agents, it's not like we were seeing real reports just rumors here and there. Anyway, IMO they didn't like the return value they were seeing and decided to give Vogel a chance with Ayton. But when DA took a shot at his Suns teammates, Booker and KD voted to revisit trade options. You could be right of course, but I'm just not sold on that. They were very clearly shopping him early in the offseason and very willing to take offers. To me you do not do that publicly unless you are quite sold on the idea of trading him.
That could certainly be the comment that moved it from preferring to trade him to feeling like they absolutely had to, but who knows.
James Edwards 2.0 soft, sorry rebounder who likes to shoot `15 ft jumpers and not draw foulsJoe Barely Cares 2.0 and 3.0.
I think upon further analysis Keon Johnson and Wainright are the likely 2 to go. They might try to convert Johnson to our last 2 way spot.I hope Allen sticks, he has 3 pt range and does the dirty work on D.... D Lee and Wainright are roster lint and can be flushed
Players did not like/trust him. Dude was a check casher - he will fail in PDX alsoWTF, I hate it, Ayton for nothing that moves the needle.
Lopez, Crazy Eyes and Giannis are their front 3. That's a HUGE front line. And Middleton is a BIG 2.You consider Middleton a "big"? I would consider him a big just like I'd consider KD a big.
Yeah, his future in Phoenix was already hanging by a thread. It wouldn't take much to push the front office into a trade. I highly doubt there was any one voice that was strongly in favor of keeping DA.Yeah, I don't think that's true
I think if anyone of those 3 guys was adamant he go, that is all it would take. It would not require all 3 to feel that way.
I agree. I remember the Shaq and Kobe 2.0 talk.Yeah DA is gifted, there's a reason he went first in a draft class that was expected to be one of the greatest ever. And we've seen glimpses of greatness from him but he's never sustained it. His longest run of strong play was the run up to the finals and his worst play has probably been everything since then. I'd have kept him, he had so much potential and is a likable person, but I'm not broken hearted he's gone. Just that he's gone for so little.
If you trade/cut guys we got in return it should lower our cap number. Right this minute it is the same. We are over the 15 man limit so someone(s) will be moved one way or another.6. To answer this - no it changed nothing cap wise at all, we took back the same amount in salary. It's possible we could trade a couple of these guys away for picks I suppose - but actually probably not there is extremely little open cap space available to do so.
BORG-JESUS! We both can't even remember the same players name correctly!Did I not see the pic clearly? I thought they showed Giannis, Lopez and crazy eyes as their staring frontcourt with middleton in the backcourt with dame.
same.I can only assume that they have been 100% dedicated to trading Ayton all summer, but were just waiting it out and hoping a better offer came along and it didn't.
Actually, it's very interesting that you guys mention both JB Carroll and James Edwards. Both of those guys are exactly who Ayton has brought to my mind for quite a while now. Both were noted for being "soft" big men who tended to aggravate their coaches.James Edwards 2.0 soft, sorry rebounder who likes to shoot `15 ft jumpers and not draw fouls

Anyone of those guys could've saved AytonYeah, I don't think that's true

Nurkic is a better rebounder not even close - DA never went after rebounds - he only got the ones that came at himNurkic is just a guy, Gambo is out to lunch when he claims the dude is a impactful defender.
The filler of the trade is about as filler as it gets. Allen is a poor man’s Pat Bev.
Little better develop into a stud.
Gross.
There is a chance another move could be made.. its going to take some doing but be on the look out for another Suns move.
I mean we may not know every deal that was offered. That being said I mean better than this specific offer.Idk this is probably better than Tim Hardaway and Davis Bertans…
He is indeed more talented. But I believe Nurkic is a much better fit. When one of our stars needs to feed a guy down low, Nurkic will do the correct thing with it, immediately. The offense will flow. Unlike with Ayton.Oh I know. For as much as an Ayton fan I was, I never could rebuttal when these flaws were brought up. It was extremely frustrating because I believe he is very talented and those simple things took so much away from his game.
One of many moments.... So frustrating to watch all that talent be overshadowed by lack of motivation, heart, hustle, and low basketball IQ.xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media
