At least he is right about Bethel.

Talk about a player that lost ALL of his fire.

The man was a terror on special teams, and the minute they gave him the chance at cornerback he lost all his fire for some reason. I do not even see his value on special teams anymore.

Time to go.

Keim should've never given Bethel the $$$ he did after never seeing a great ST player play CB in the NFL. That's just plain dumb!!! :bang:

So the coaches are always right
Players undeperforming
Something I use to hear from him

Love BA but self criticism is what makes people realizing of their mistakes and making them better moving forward

I know this sounds overdramatic but if Amos Jones isn't fired or moved to a different position better suited for his (lack thereof) of coaching skills I am not going to renew my season tickets. I cannot spend thousands of dollars in this economy to go through this poo again. Simple business decision.

I never understood the Bethel contract. That was way too much money to spend on a guy who was nothing more than a very good Special Teamer who had shown no signs of being a competent defensive back.

They could have brought back Powers and Rashad Johnson for less than the contract that Bethel signed. Total failure by Keim!

And now you know why he hasn't been a coach ever and why Pittsburgh let him go. Believing your system is always right never works in a league that can figure out your system

K9 mentioned that it is basically a one year contract to see if he pans out at DB - not a bad deal if you include the fact that you are paying him a bit for his Pro Bowl ST work over the past few years. We can cut him next year pretty easily:

Justin Bethel
2017 Cap Hit $1,500,000
2017 Cap Savings $3,750,000

2017 Cap Hit $750,000
2017 Cap Savings $5,000,000

BA is safe so you mid as well stop with this "Fire BA" narrative you've been spewing for the past several weeks.

I don't think the money made him lose his desire on special teams. I think he just isn't practicing special teams enough.

I think he is a player that cannot process a lot of information, so he is a role player and that role is ST. A few snaps on defense when you are down to the wire due to injuries, but he shouldn't play defense unless it is an emergency during the game.

Nothing wrong with that, there are many NFL players that can only do one job, but do it so well they have a successful career.

Dude read around. More people agree with me....maybe not fired but you are crazy to think he is making good decisions.

That's crazy, he can throw Bethel under the bus, correctly, but defends his ST coach?

Not sure that's stuff you want to be tweeting in public BA.

2016 Special Teams:
  • #32 in punt average
  • #16 in kick return average
  • #28 in punt return average
  • #30 in Field Goals average
  • #24 in Extra Points average
2015 Special Teams:
  • #30 in punt avg
  • #15 in kick return average
  • #24 in punt return average
  • #7 in Field Goals avg
2014:
  • #31 in punt average
  • #32 in kick return avg
  • #9 in punt return avg
  • #9 in field goal average

Special teams didn't just all of a sudden start to suck. It's been bottom of the barrel in most aspects for much of the last 3 seasons.

Thank you for pulling those stats. I feel like our ST's was a gem under Whinsenhunt..
