There really wasn't much to debate on each of these rounds, which is sad for the Cardinals fans to know that after these, there weren't very great picks over the years.

1. Larry Fitzgerald - 2004
2. Dan Dierdorf - 1971
3. Aeneas Williams - 1991
4. Roy Green - 1979
5. Larry Centers - 1990
6. Reggie Wells - 2003
7. Larry Wilson - 1960

Can't we go 15 Rounds? It's only been the last 15 years, or so, that the draft was cut to 12, then 7 rounds.

I agree. Then we could add guys like Ernie McMillan a 13th round pick who played T for the Cards for over a decade and current coach Stump Mitchell a 9th round selection and Jackie Smith a 10th round pick who played for the Cards for 15 years or my 2nd favorite Cardinal player Vai Sikahema a 10 in 1986. And finally 19th round pick in the 1958 draft Sonny Randle.

I think you are the only one who could do all 15 rounds properly. Have at it sir! :)

Forget that pinhead. Think about Luis Sharpe a 1st round pick who played T for the Cards for 13 years! Looking back at their drafts it's easy to see why the Cardinals have struggled for so long. They have, probably more so than any other team, botched free agency. Letting their good players go and signing guys on the downside of their careers to replace them.

One can make an argument that Ottis Anderson was a better 1st rounder. However, jim Hart would be the hands down choice for undrafted F.A. Round 2 is a toughie with Dierdorf(can't argue a hall of famer), Q, Neil Lomax, Jake Plummer, Tim McDonald. Best 3rd rounder is an easy pick too in Terry Metcalf.

The sad thing is how many of our top draft picks had their greatest success somewhere else.

Gotta save that $1 don't they. The Cards have just been idiots when its come to free agency. Didn't even protect Jay Novacek during the days of plan B.

how about 2 guys who had Pro-Bowl years as Cards and both where drafted by other teams and picked up thru waivers ....................Ken Gray OG multiple Pro Bowls in the 60`s was cut from the GB Packers.Bobby Joe Conrad WR-DB-K was a draft pick of the NY Giants. Both had excellent careers as Cards.

Conrad scored for the Cards via Extra Points, FGs, rushing TDs, punt returns, and receiving TDs. Led the NFL in receptions in '63. I hate him because he's the reason I'm a Cardinal fan. Game vs Pitt years ago and there was a picture of him dirty and beat up and still making a great catch. I've been hooked ever since.

Same reason I've been a Deuce Lutui fan. 2006 vs Dallas the rest of the team had quit but Deuce was still playing all out.

Easy to see why both Gray and Conrad were great players. They were both from Texas!

BJ Conrad and Sonny Randle gave the Cards a solid WR group. Then adding Jackie Smith helped Charlie Johnson even more.To this day i still don`t understand trading John David Crow RB to SF for Abe Woodson CB-KR.Dumb trade.

The Cards were on the cover of Sports Illustrated in 1963. "The High Flying Cardinals" Charley Johnson, Sonny Randle and Bobby Joe Conrad. They haven't been any good since. The longest running SI cover jinx in history.

I have that magazine in my office. Maybe I should burn it or something.

Wow 9 years out of 50! We're a dynasty! Won 11 games once 10 games three times but 5 or fewer 21 times! Yessir the Cards have been one of the NFLs premier franchises since 1963.
