Rondo said he carried the Celtics(KG, Pierce and Allen) to their title. Would be a good opportunity to vindicate himself. I'm not saying Rondo and championship for the Suns, but this could an opportunity to make this his team as a leader and veteran.

Why not? Franchises like Boston and LA can big-time us about championships but I see nothing wrong with hanging conference banners until we have a reason not to. But then I've never agreed with the thinking that anything other than winning it all is losing.
How about than not winning it EVER? Or, more specifically, not building teams over a half century to grow to true Championship contenders?

Until, hopefully now.

I agree that he didn't need to, but I don't think he was meaning to take a shot at our franchise. I think we were just a team that stuck out as an example.
Not to pile on you.
Jmo but at time all of the media was making fun of us, rondo was beating a dead horse.:deadhorse2:

If the Suns & McD can work a trade for Lillard I'd be ecstatic and take back everything negative I've ever even thought about McD and Sarver, so long as Booker and Ayton aren't part of that deal. Lillard is one of my favorite players in the NBA and would be much better than Kemba Walker as a sort of stop-gap PG for the time being. I'd be ok trading Jackson to bring in Lillard, who was just named 1st team All-NBA this year. That would be one hell of a Big 3. Lillard, Booker, Bridges, Ariza, Ayton would be a playoff team. Possibly even a team that could get out of the 1st round this year depending on how the bench looked. I could see them contending in another season after building chemistry and adding some pieces.

I know that's a lot of speculating on my end. That Lillard tweet doesn't mean anything. It could be nothing. Who knows though. The Blazers have been rumored as a team that might blow things up and we could give them a nice package to start doing that.

I am thinking the Suns are targeting John Wall a trade after July. Looks like Washington is ready to start a rebuild and let Beal take over.

What makes you think that? Wall has one of the absolute worst contracts in the league, even for superstar standards.

And some questionable defense and leadership qualities. Honestly, he's one of my least favorite trade options in the entire league.

Here are three guys the Suns should target in a trade imho:

1. Darren Collison
2. Spencer Dinwiddie
3. Tyus Jones

Give me a solid, steady point guard who also allows us to maintain cap flexibility next offseason. Collison's availability would likely need to involve the Pacers pursuing a flashier option at point guard, but all three of these guys could potentially be acquired at a reasonable price.

And check out last year's league leaders in assist-to-turnover ratio:

Well when you have Gortat and Morris on your team I question which one thinks he is the franchise guy more. The D was bad but that was the whole team. The Suns are much better built team for being abito switch on every play if needed.

I'll say this: I don't want Morris or Gortat either. :)

Wall's contract absolutely terrifies me. Paying 31-year-old John Wall $46 million dollars is my nightmare.

I think we need to identify a team or two that's on the line about tanking. Offer them Chriss and/or Bender plus Warren for their best guard; sell them on the value of bringing in a couple of tank experts.

Bulls, Nets, Clippers, Heat, Knicks, Magic, Hawks...

If they really want a tank commander, we could make Brandon Knight available too!

Yup. But whoever doesn't matter, we know that our cupboard is stacked with what they'll need to successfully tank. Experience matters.

Why do you think that? Didn't seem to give a reason and I find that hard to believe.

The price for Kawhi just likely fell with LeBron going to LA. I imagine not many teams will be willing to offer much now knowing he likely leaves to LA.

Scared money doesn't make money.

Would you guys trade Jackson and change for Kawhi and hope we can convince him to stay a la Paul George? It's a huge risk, but it would catapult us into playoff contention.

Not a chance in hell. The only way I would is if we were able to get him to sign an extension as part of the deal. Which obviously would not happen.

I still think a team like Boston might be willing to take the gamble, but they still wouldn't be willing to part with too much.

No, I wouldn't consider it for a second... but we're coming off a season where we just won 20 games and the Celtics with Kawhi are a virtual lock for the finals.

These are the teams that came to mind: Memphis, Washington, Miami, Clippers, Charlotte, Detroit, Cleveland.

There are teams with multiple pgs: Boston, Toronto, New Orleans.
