Here's why I'm telling you all of this: If you like the Panthers, you'd better really like them.

Well, I really like them. The weekend couldn't have worked out better, actually: A limited Arizona team broke two big plays, got a fluke fumble-return TD and took advantage of a deafening home crowd to overachieve against a young team that never caught a break. Now the Cardinals are on the road -- where they went 3-5 this season and got blown out by the Jets, Pats and Eagles by the combined score of 151-62 -- and playing 2008's best home team (8-0), a well-balanced, well-coached team that will run it down their throats. What am I missing?

The Pick: Panthers 37, Cardinals 14.

Thotz?

He's completely justified in this prediction however I don't think you can point to the three losses he mentions without considering the game against CAROLINA! That game would seem to be of more importance.

Also, I don't appreciate him trying to belittle our win against Atlanta. If it was such a fluke answer this question BILL; how many minuts of the 60 available was Atlanta leading???

What's wrong with the title? ;)

I like this prediction, and have no problem with it since he's a moron and I'd be more worried if he picked us to win. I don't agree with the prediction, of course. He is a moron to give our defense no credit for the Atlanta game, instead putting that result on "breaks".

Personally, I think we lose a game within the spread. But, if we're +2 in turnovers we could easily pull an upset.

Pants lost to Atlanta, Tampa, and Minny by a combined score of 92-41.

Gave up 45 points to ATL, 27 to Tampa.

He didn't do the proper analysis on this one (he didn't even cite the first game) and I wrote him an email letting him know why it will be closer then he thinks.

He had it right last week - hes glossing over on this one. Or at least i think so.

We will see....

He probably put a bunch of money on Atlanta and now he's ticked off.

Its very annoying hearing the dog piling going on against the Cards this week, This morning/afternoon the Philadelphia(WIP) and New York(WFAN) sports talk stations had a combined show and in the 10 minutes I listened to it, both sides busted on the Cards, saying they wished it was Arizona they were playing this weekend rather than eachother.
Even if we go to the big game they'll be tearing us down until we win it all.

I can see picking against the Cards but be realistic. They are going to score 21+ points. Other than playing in the snow, they have scored on everyone. Why would this week be any different?

i just love how we are all eating up the fact that we are tremendous underdogs in this game.

"overachieved?" "fluke fumble recovery?"

Cant imagine how large that bulletin board is in the Cards locker room.....

How can he say that was a fluke fumble recovery when Dockett blew that play up. That was a legit forced fumble if I have ever seen one. The Cards defense was in the backfield of the Hawks all day long. Did this idiot not watch the game.
If that play happened to the Eagles defense they would be saying it was that heavy blitzing killer D that destroys the other teams and takes it to the house. That type of reporter makes me sick.

sorry my only thought was who spells thoughts like that....

i love bill simmons though, you got to take it for what it is, he calls it the B.S. report but he is not bs-ing, he is telling it how he sees it and most of the time and i find his point of view entertaining. That doesn't always mean that his point of view is correct, but he is being honest. Its rare that columnists give it straight like ESPNs Rick Reilly and Bill Simmons do.

Reilly is more of a good person but still cutting out the BS.

Simmons is a dirtbag who gambles drinks and smokes and tells it from that side of things and they complement each other perfectly.

Bill Simmons is one of the biggest idiots who gets paid to write about sports (up there with Stephen A Smith and Greg Anthony) I wouldn't take anything he says too seriously.
