Scariest part of this deal--and this is being talked about amongst "fan" circles (which don't mean much)--is that Brandon Knight is going to be our starting PG in 2018/2019.

Suns didn't want any player back in trade unless they would be part of the long term plan.

An expiring vet with a buyout is an asset, the first is an asset.

I have a feeling the Suns are not done dealing this year and these assets are going to be used.

For some reason I think there is a possibility of landing Anthony Davis.

Right. The protection in 2018 and 2019 is fine, but the protection in 2020 favors only Milwaukee, and it should have been easy to forecast that that's the year that's most likely to come into play. I mean, most of us figured it out within a few minutes. How long did McDonough think about it?

Exactly, it just doesn't make sense for McD to make such a trade.

We have to pretty much hope they somehow only get like a 7th or 8th seed in the East this year, and I think most here believe they are going to be quite a bit better then that.

Then not knowing whether we are going to keep, trade, or buyout Monroe just makes it look worse.

Just reeks of a panic trade.

The irony if Knight ends up better than Bledsoe will be off the scale.

You clearly don't understand what we received. Do you honestly think there is any chance we'll get that pick in this draft? Do you understand how terrible the East is, and that Milwaukee has a potential MVP on their team?

Barring massive injuries, the Bucks will make the playoffs, both this year and next. We traded a very solid player for a bag of beans in 2020. MARKIEFF, with all of his drama and bad attitude nabbed a LOTTERY PICK!!!!

This is a terrible deal, and there was no compelling reason to get it done. Bledsoe wasn't going to play for us, openly sabotaged the team, and we gave him exactly what he wanted. Why not wait until a decent team has an injury at PG, or until we received a good offer? Explain to me the urgency of doing this right now.
I think I do. I think the Bucks will make the playoffs, but barely. Teams in the east have improved. But the Bucks are playing poorly even with the Freak playing out of his mind. Bledsoe will move the needle enough to keep that pick in play.

As far as Markieff nabbing a lottery pick. It was #14. Barely, and that was far from a given when the trade was made. Everyone keeps comparing this trade with McD's previous trades.

Compare this trade with the trade Magic made with the Nets.
Compare it with what the Cavs got for Kyrie. They may end up with half a year of IT and a 10 plus pick for Kyrie.
PG's who want out arent commanding much.

Sure. I would like to have more, but it doesn't look like it was available. I have hunch that McD is interested in Monroe as a free agent. This does give him a chance to get a good look and do a little recruiting if he likes what he sees (just my hunch, watch, they will just let him go now).

In the East. Teams likely to finish ahead of the Bucks.

Boston, Cleveland (you would think), Washington, Toronto. There are some surprise teams that are playing well in Detroit and Orlando. It also looks like Philadelphia has turned the corner with Embiid healthy and Ben Simmons playing out of his mind. I think Fultz will help once he is healthy.

Plus. The pick is based upon overall record, not playoff seeding. As bad as things might be in the east, they still have to play teams in the west.

Five thirty eight's projections, updated today, project the Bucks to finish 17 in the league. So, its close to being in the range. And that does not consider injury potential. Also. I do not see Kidd liking Bleds game much.

Woj says the Suns get the Bucks pick if its #8-30 in 2020. Am I missing something? Isn't it almost a lock to convey that year?

No, you aren't missing anything, and Yes, the pick will almost certainly be conveyed in 2020 if for some reason it isn't before then.

Bucks will finish, at worst, a 5 or 6 seed in the East. Way too much talent, especially with Bledsoe. I wonder if we even tried to get Jabari Parker. He is injury prone, but very talented and fits our timeline. I guess that would have created a logjam at SF, though.

All things considered, does anybody really have any confidence the Suns can parlay all of these picks into anything meaningful (i.e. moving up in the draft)?

I have serious doubts.

I know the Sarver looking to sell the team is just rumor at this point and probably not true but let's assume it's true.

All of the sudden salary dumps make sense. Leading up to the sale of the team you want the books to look as lean as possible no?

And Bledsoe will be a free agent before then. Is there much on the Buck's roster to go with Giannis for those years?

I think the Bucks pick has limited trade value since it's a huge question mark. It's still tradable but hardly a great asset. Not sure what this means regarding Sarver.

Its a future asset. Giannis goes down with an injury (big men with that type of physique often do. I look away often when watching him just because it looks like he is going to blow out a knee every time down the court). Bledsoe will be a free agent before 2020. I just don't see Milwaukee as much different from the Pelicans. They have one superstar asset but they do not have anything else significant in the pipeline to help.

But who knows really.

doesn't need to be in the East.

And my money's on Bledsoe inking an extension because the Bucks are the ones who can give him the most money.

Middleton, sort of Brogdon, and maybe Parker, I guess; but no, not a lot. But I don't think that matters. Players move around a lot more than they used to, and the half-life of most NBA rosters is less than three years. As long as Antetokounmpo keeps playing like an MVP candidate, they'll be credible in pursuing free agents.

Gambo says Suns prolly keeping Monroe. Moose is a good player gonna make you guys forget Bledsoe by halftime his 1st game. If Monroe is just the player he was last year we win this trade

I am not pessimistic, but I am not this optimistic. To me, his value is an expiring.

But BC ought to be happy. He is a 265 lb center. BC likes bulk in a center.

Sarver is not selling the team. As far as the pick goes, it can be useful in one scenario- disgruntled star wants to be traded, so you can offer 3 picks in addition to other stuff. Beyond that, I don't think it will be useful in moving up, etc.

Nice to have a low post option. Our whole team is the jump shot when points are needed. Haven't had a presence down low since Amare

0-3 with Eric..4-4 without. We just added a potential legit scoring and rebounding center and gave up nothing. The sky is not falling
