Outstanding episode. Definitely one of the best it has had. Richard Harrow is such a great character and I am hoping he becomes a more central character as the season progresses.

Though I think that she does have potential to being a regular character, the new US Attorney General Esther Randolph is a bit of a pain in the rear. As she is a sexist to that Agent Van Alden. But still, she can have a sense of humor.

She is actually the assistant attorney general and she is based off a real person. By changing her name they have more wiggle room with what they can do (like they did with Nucky). If you're interested the real person is Mabel Walker Willebrandt.

Boredwalk Empire has completely lost me.

I dropped out a while ago. Loved the sets, loved the acting, loved the occasional nudity but I really didn't need any help sleeping so I moved on.

This show lost me about 6 episodes into last season. TERRIBLE! A complete snore fest!

:nono:

Y'all are crazy. This show rocks. Not everything can be tits and machine guys (although those are certainly fun too) :D

Well. Yea. Don't really know what to say but holy crap. That was a great episode of tv. Now where do they go in the finale?

Poor Jimmy. I wish he killed his mom. She is a freaking whackjob. Granted it was the Commodore and Nucky who did that to her who in turn did that to him.

Hopefully he and Richard get their revenge on.

I have a feeling Richard is going to kill Manny. He loved Angela so much more than Jimmy ever did.

The show was no doubt more methodical and plodding this season. This is coming form a huge fan of the show. Each week it seemed like next week was going to be the week with tons of stuff and each episode sort of plodded along.

Still love the show but I feel the pacing needs to be picked up next season. Here is hoping to an awesome finale.

Whoa, it wasn't Nucky that did it to him. He was given the crap sandwich by the Commodore and did his best to bring Jimmy up right. Jimmy has been an ungrateful little bastard, siding with his biological father after his father crapped all over him his whole life, and siding against the guy who was always there for him. That's why I've been rooting against Jimmy the whole season.

Granted there wasn't a lot to root for, but there definitely isn't now. I can only watch and hope for the downfall of most of these guys.

I don't know how Richard continues to fit in. But the foreshadowing going on at the Commodore's chateau was quite telling with what was about to go down at the meet.

Excellent season.

CRAP. I have not sided with the choices that Jimmy made but I didn't want to see what happened happen. I think we lose one of the characters that make the show really interesting.

I want to see Jimmy's mom get what is coming to her. She is a manipulative piece of work. The very thought of what she is going to do with Jimmy's little boy gives me the shivers.

Also, I am disappointed that Jimmy didn't get his revenge last night for the killing of his wife. This finale sets up some big changes next season.

I'm glad it happened. It was crystal clear that, while Jimmy was a smart kid, he hadn't ever left those trenches. He was so twisted by his experiences, his mother, and his life, that he was ignoring his intellect and simply striking out. Nucky was the closest thing to a father to him, and he tried to have him killed. He had to die.

Fantastic show. Next season will be more of the same fun.

I am absolutely shocked they did that. It made perfect sense from a story angle but he was such a great actor in this cast that I would have loved to see him continue into next season. I do wonder what will happen to Richard since he is by far my favorite character on the show. I guess with Jimmy out of the way Chalky can get more screen time. Just a great season on a show that is living up to the promise it showed in bits and pieces last season.

Jimmy getting the axe was apparently due more to Pitt's persona than story-telling. That's the word from inside the industry.

The exit might cause some to wonder about an industry rumor in October, when Pitt split with his talent agent amid a claim the actor was “difficult” to work with, but Winter said that description is “absolutely not true.” “Michael is a total professional,” Winter says. “He’s intense, of course, but I don’t think you can do that job without being intense.” Pitt said,”I’m confident that I will be judged by my performance and not by the ‘he said, she said.’”

There are many people who are 'tough' to work with but they always seem to get jobs. I felt like his story had run it's natural course over the two seasons. Had he been alive for next season where would we be? He reconciles with Nucky and it is like season 1 again or he is still his enemy and it is like season 2?

Winter can play nice for the press and he should, but the fact that Pitt was fired by his agency says it all. that just doesn't happen unless you have MAJOR issues... issues big enough to get killed off in a prestige series. he wasn't just "tough" to work with... he was LOATHED. Trust me on this... when I say word from inside the industry, I don't mean an Entertainment Weekly article or a Nikki Finke post. I don't know what his story would have been going forward, but his death wasn't just story based.

Explains why we haven't seen him in much over the years.

Just barely started watching this yesterday, almost done with season 1. Good show so far, haven't read anything in here. I just "searched" the thread title and it popped up, look at the hippie gettin all somistafacated with the science. I really needed something besides football rightnow and this show is plug and play.

It is but he will work again. I know two people who worked with Donald Sutherland in a couple movies and both (who don't know each other) said he was one of the most difficult SOB's on set and treated people like garbage.

It seems to me Hollywood has a high tolerance for massive ******s unless you have massive substance abuse problems (which they will eventually forgive...i.e. RDJ) or pull off a PR nightmare that you can't get out from under.

Thanks for the insight Cheese. I suspected something was up with his sudden departure but had not heard anything until you posted above.
