While they may be pursuing 2nd interview with Adam Gase, #49ers have not set one up with Cardinals DC Todd Bowles, according to his agent

Interesting. IMO, Falcons would be the better job by far.

Ian Rapoport ‏@RapSheet
Big change of plans: #AZCardinals DC Todd Bowles will now head to #NYJ first, then talk with #Falcons. Question is will #Jets let him leave?

2 years ago, Mike McCoy had a visit to #Chargers, then one with #AZCardinals. SD never let him leave town. Jets may do the same with Bowles

@Cardschatter @RapSheet Todd Bowles is a busy man. Do you think he take a HC position Darren?

I have already accepted that he is moving on given the opportunity.

Ready to figure who the staff brings in to take over and if Dick L is really coming to help the D like Tom Moore.

Whatever happened to Doug Marrone getting the Jets job? I haven't heard his name anywhere. Did I miss something?

It appears Jet's owner Woody Johnson has left Marrone at the altar. If Johnson doesn't vacillate back to him, Marrone will end up as an assistant head coach in Houston.

Heard Peter King on ESPN this morning saying he thinks Bowles will be the Jets next HC.

Hearing Todd Bowles would like to take Cards LB coach Mike Caldwell with him as his defensive coordinator. Bowles visiting the #Jets today.

Bowles in NY doesn't make much sense, at least for him. Their offense is in shambles as they have nothing on the offensive side of the ball. QB, RB, WR, TE are all hot messes. Their line isn't bad but the rest is putrid. If Marty Mornhinweg couldn't do anything with this team I don't know who can. Of course if the Jets are the only team offering Bowles a HC job then it's up to him but if I were him I'd give it another year.

#Jets being very aggressive in their pursuit of Todd Bowles. He was scheduled to meet w/ ATL on Wednesday, instead visiting the Jets today.

he is right though, when your team is winning you are a great coach, when they are not you are a terrible coach. He can afford financially to be picky but you never know when our slide could come and his opportunities would pass.

Just look at Russ Grimm. He used to be a hot commodity.

I think it would be a bad idea for any coaching candidate to turn any team down that invites them for an interview .

As far as I've been told.. if any of these guys are under contract Bowles cannot take them with.

I was told the NFL views people as head coach or assistant coaches.. nothing more.

So even a QB Coach to Offensive Coordinator can be blocked.
Or a LB Coach to Defensive Coordinator can be blocked.

It's likely Bowles could take NO ONE with him from our staff.

it boils down to BA can say no, that's about it. If BA says yes, he can go.

If he wants to go and get the promotion and you say no, now you may have a disgruntled employee.

There was a time when I was terrified to lose him, and I would still be sad if he went. But with the quality of DC's around the league now looking for jobs, I am feeling slightly better today than I was last week at this time.

After dealing with the anxiety of Horton leaving and it turning out just fine, I have had no issues this time around. We have the talent on D that if you are a good coordinator, the season will go very well for you.

I just hope whomever we bring in is a similar system so the D picks up fast.
