I actually expect next weeks episode to be pretty anti climactic. Don't forget there is a whole other season to go. I will be shocked if any of the true "major players" reach their demise.

weird... that was the first episode I was relatively underwhelmed by. Jesse's insistence that Walt was the one who poisoned the kid... just didn't make any sense. especially after Gus flat out TOLD Jesse that "there would be an appropriate response" in regards to Jesse's ultimatum. that scene where he had the gun to Walt's head seemed like the first false dramatic beat to me in a while and at a really critical time in the show.

but again, love the end scene... maybe four total words in the final three minutes with Fring being all knowing. the show does more with less than anything else out there.

I agree cheese. Jesse who is smart on the show not to figure out Gus's inclination for violence against kids if needed, the threat, and Gus recently poisoning himself and a handful of others should have been clue enough.

But I guess they needed something to trigger a reunion of sorts.

Read a brief interview with Cranston and he said this...

“We have 16 episodes after this Sunday’s finale of season four, (so) two more years,” he said.

Does this mean that the final 16 epsidoes will be split into 2 seasons?

unfortunately, yes. probably either an 8 and 8 split or a 10 and 6.

Holy crap!
That was really good. Thought Gus standing there with his face half blown off was a bit over the top but overall an excellent season finale. Walt's becoming Heisenberg full time.

Outstanding!!!

For a moment there I thought Gus walked away from the explosion. They got me.

saw the last moment coming (and as cool of a plan as it was, I'm kinda curious as to how exactly Walt pulled that plan off)... which was a bummer. the rest of the episode was GREAT.

Ditto, if they waited until next season the reveal would have been better. Even still - BEST. SHOW. EVER

Just great tv.

On the rooftop, as Walt was pulling away in his "new" econo car, the camera faded to and focused in on some medallion or trinket hanging from another vehicles rear view mirror. What was that trinket? Was it hanging from the mirror of Gus's abandoned Volvo or was someone else watching them and this is a hint as to who?

Gotta figure Saul's crew , Heull and the shredder lady are part and parcel of the setup. Heull stole the rison cig from Jesse during the pat down and she was shredding a school schedule (I think). But then, Tyrus looked to be using a ricin cigarette content, from the sunglass case to inject Hector

Walt is Heisenberg and a true evil genius. I will watch this again and look for more hints. This writing staff leaves more hints than can be seen with one viewing.

Ding, ding, ding........

The title of this episode is " Face Off ". The writers made it literal.

In the mirror was a los pollos air freshner which served as a dual purpose one was that it showed it was gus's car and two was that when marie was on the phone with walt she said I hope you sell a lot of air freshners so imo the air freshner was a symbol of walts win. I think saulls secretary was just shredding the books to get rid of evidence. If I had to guess they will play the cigarette missing as a coincidence that just worked in walts favor since as was said walt never had the chance to take it.

Even though it was completely telegraphed it still left my jaw hanging.

Remember in last weeks episode when he was spinning the gun? He spun it a couple of times and it ended up pointing at him. The final time it ended up pointing at the plant. So great looking back at that.

Walt's two best lines of the season:
"I am the one who knocks" and "I won."

Now how the hell do they do a final season/two seasons? Can't see the cartel doing anything. I guess Jesse finds out and it is a battle between Jesse/Walt with Hank against both since he now has Gus' files? Maybe Jesse gets Mike's help.

I hate it when this show ends each season, but this show gives the viewers real final episodes, that leave the next season wide open. 10/10

Kind of a random question. I'll put it in spoilers just in case someone hasn't seen it. Don't think it is much of a spoiler though.
Did Gus wear the same suit when he met up with Tio that he wore when Tio killed Max in the flashback? They made a point to show him change. Not a huge detail but one that kind of stuck in my mind.

The crew of Breaking Bad worked for months on the visual effect of Gus Fring's (Giancarlo Esposito) massive facial wounds, and recruited assistance from the special effects team from fellow AMC drama The Walking Dead.

Awesome resource.
