It'd be great to see him go out on top! He's really got nothing more to prove anyways. The only question that remains is if he wants to continue playing or if he's had enough. He should be given at least two weeks after the Super Bowl to gather his thoughts about his future.

After the NFCC game when Terry Bradshaw said, "how about it Arizona, who wants Kurt Warner back next year" Kurt didn't comment back. I think he's going to retire but won't say anything about it until after the team's done playing the Superbowl.

A big part of what makes Kurt tick is playing with a chip on his shoulder and proving the doubters wrong. After winning the Superbowl with AZ he has nothing left to prove. At this point, I think he's just worn out. I don't think anyone realizes how hard Kurt had to work this offseason to win the starting job. It's not like he just showed up in the preseason saying, "hey, look what I did last year." Everyone here who met Kurt during training camp mentioned how much better he looked physically. He's at the age where he has to work harder and harder to get the same results. Kurt played at a MVP level almost all year but towards the end of the season we could see the obvious arm fatigue.

I think Kurt is going to win us a Superbowl this weekend and I think he'll retire on top. He punched his ticket to Canton this year and the odds of him having similar results next year are slim. Boldin will likely be gone and we'll likely be a more balanced offense with an emphasis placed on improving our running game this offseason. If you look at other QBs great years they've followed them up with good but not spectacular production. After Marino set the record to TDs in a season he followed up with 18 less touchdowns and went from a 109 rating to a 84. Manning threw 21 less touchdowns after his record setting season and Brady got injured and missed the whole year after his. Kurt even had his ups and downs during his time with the Rams. Brett Favre had a revival last year and led the league in interceptions this year.

Kurt probably could come back next year and lead us to similar success. It's not a given, though. Even if he comes back next year and plays at the same level there's no guarantee the rest of the team will. It's a no brainer situation for the Cardinals to offer him a deal for the next 2 season but it's not that easy of a decision for Kurt to make. If he does retire I hope he sticks around the organization in some capacity.

It'd be nice if he retired on the top and become a Cardinals legend, instead of push his age limits and be a liability for his team (*cough* BRETT FAVRE *cough*). Of course, the Super Bowl isn't won yet so let's see what happens then and what the future holds.

I don't think he's retiring at all. He just had a great year and obviously enjoys playing. I think people are putting too much stock into his remark after Boldin got hurt. I also think the negotiations will get quite messy and wouldn't be surprised to see him elsewhere next year.

I really hope that doesn't happen. Either he plays for us or he retires, that would be my wishes. I would hope he plays for us again next year, just one more year.

I agree, but the FO can get creative with long term deals with A-DUB, and Los, maybe even Q, and could then afford to give KW what he deserves.

One of the shows I watched today(maybe PTI?) was talking about Warner's agent. He said he always advises his clients not to sign before free agency and to go out and test the waters. Then they went on to mention Chicago (terrible idea--minimum 9 games outdoors--Chi 8 + 1 in GB) and Minnesota as possible destinations.

I beleive that if the Cards win the SB Kurt will retire. Go out like Elway.

If the Cards win I beleive KW stamped his ticket as a first ballot HOF'er.

If the Cards lose I think it is 95% probable that Warner will still retire. He is up there with 7 kids and the rest of his life to look forward to. To get out of the game with your body intact, legacy assured, and more money in the bank than he probably needs is the best case scenario.

Kurt will retire, get picked to be the Madden cover boy, and then change his mind and ask to come back to Arizona, but we won't have any cap room left so he will go else where and the Cards will go 5-11 with a QB who they drafted in the first round finally getting to start a whole season, meanwhile Kurt goes elsewhere and has an average year, turning the ball over a lot, just barely missing the playoffs, getting his coach fired, having his RB blame him for missing the playoffs after the season is over, all the while having the media talk about him every stinkin day.

I have come to my personal conclusion that I want Kurt to resign with the Cards. We just would not taste a shot at a superbowl next year without him. Matt will need time to grow into his position. Losing Kurt, Boldin,James and perhaps our LB would be to much to overcome. We could easily fall back to an 8-8 team if these guys are no longer with us. Fitz has offered to restructure to bring back Boldin but apparently that may not do it. If Kurt retires it will make a lot of guys rethink what they want to do. Matt is going to have to go on the field and prove himself to the players. This year we had the right players all come together at the right time. We have not built a dynasty. I think they will give all they have and then some to win the superbowl. Next year is going to be tough. If we somehow keep our core players we could make a run once again but keeping those guys is going to be tough. Not only have they become valuable to us but now other teams will be looking at our players and coaches. That goes with winning.

Just losing a QB like Kurt and replacing him with basically a rookie is enough in itself to make it very difficult to repeat.

This remains the greatest football year in the history of the Cardinals for me. It remains a complete mystery to the rest of the world. An underdog from the start of the season right up until the superbowl.
