Mostly cause I am tired of Amare...

Per ESPN trade machine, it works

Phoenix trades:
Amare 'the Man' Stoudemire
Leandro 'blackhole blur' Barbosa

Memphis Trades
O.J. Mayo
Kyle Lowry
Antoine Walker
First Round Pick 2010.

Memphis gets an NBA first team guy and a scorer. Phoenix makes out like bandits. Finally a guy to build the team around, a solid backup PG, and a desperately needed draft pick for 2010. Antoine would be cut as soon as his plane landed... unless he can prove to be able to hit the 3pt shot at a 70% clip.

Of course, this would take Phoenix out of the running for the playoffs, unless Boris Diaw 2008 can be talked into bringing back Boris Diaw 2006... I sure miss that guy.

That wouldnt be a dumb trade for Memphis, that would be a great deal for them assuming Conley develops by next year.

Thats not a bad deal for the Suns either, but moving Amare means you are rebuilding and that means the Suns only way to rebuild is through the draft. I wouldnt trust management to be able to pull that off.

You only make that trade if you have a trade lined up for Nash.

Thats a great trade for Memphis and a terrible one for Phoenix. You get Walkers bad (and still long) contract, Kyle Lowry who's 'meh' and OJ Mayo who could be great but he's not nearly enough for an All NBA player and a NBA 6th man of the year. The only way that trade is remotely reasonable is if the Suns get TWO future 1st rounders.

Honestly, I was going to post that thats not a great deal for the Suns either, but it isnt bad because its realistic.

Mayo would be a great addition to the Suns and one of the better young scorers in the league. Lowry isnt exactly great, but at least he would provide some needed defense as a backup point guard. Walker's contract has a team option for next year, so that isnt a bad contract its an expiring one.

As for the 1sts, no way Memphis deals 2 of them for a guy who is a free agent in 2010 and isnt exactly guranteed to resign. Memphis would be taking a huge risk in this deal as is, because I doubt Amare reups with them unless they snag another good player or two in free agency in the next 2 years.

ESPN posted a rumor that Memphis is negotiating a trade for Conley with Portland for Travis Outlaw... that leads me to believe they have confidence in Lowry assuming the position.

I guess it might be fair to ask for another first rounder... but I don't think Memphis would be convinced that Amare would stay anyhow. Walker's contract expires in 2010 (the summer of the greats being made available) and thus keeping the suns in contention of signing a big name... this of course, assumes the Suns could extend OJ Mayo.

mayo isn't going anywhere anytime soon. the guy has proven already to be a stud, having put up back to back 30 point games already this year. in perspective, not even kobe has done that this year. The grizzlies would be fools to get rid of him now

Memphis is not going to trade OJ mayo especially for a trade that includes barbosa and them losing a first round pick.

Huh? Like Ivaranoi would hate to get LB? LB is a very nice player and has an extremely reasonable contract.

I do agree with that. However if we completely blew up the team, supposedly Orlando is looking for some help in the back court. I'd love to see this happen somehow:

TRADE 1)
PHX Trades:
Steve Nash

POR Trades:
Raef LaFrenz
Jerryd Bayless
1st Round Pick

TRADE 2)
PHX Trades:
Amare Stoudemire
Leandro Barbosa
2nd Round Pick

MEM Trades:
OJ Mayo
Marc Gasol
Antoine Walker
1st Round Pick

TRADE 3)
PHX Trades:
Raja Bell

ORL Trades:
Marcin Gortat
Brian Cook
1st Round Pick

TRADE 4)
PHX Trades:
Boris Diaw

NYK Trades:
David Lee
Jared Jeffries

Why do these teams do these trades? Memphis does it because they then have a solid star to build their team around, we also swap picks with them to move up. Portland does it because it makes them a super power in the west. Orlando is looking for some help in the back court and Raja can bring that while they unload Cook's contract. New York does it because Diaw can fit into Mike's system and they want to desperately get rid of Jeffries.

This leaves Phoenix with 3 acquired first round draft picks. Then their roster looks like this:

Lineup:
PG- Jarryd Bayless /Sean Singletary / Goran Dragic
SG- OJ Mayo / Alando Tucker
SF- Matt Barmes/ Grant Hill /Jared Jeffries
PF- David Lee / Robin Lopez / Antione Walker
C- Shaq / Marc Gasol/ Marcin Gortat

CUT: Brian Cook, Raef LaFrenz, Louis Amundson

I'm going to keep dreaming, so that leave us with 4 draft picks (Ours, Portlands, Orlando's and Memphis) We could have a draft of James Harden (SG), Chase Budinger (SF), Tyler Hansbrough(PF)... I'd love for a shot at Ricky Rubio as well.

I love the thought of rebuilding if we can get the right trades...

Phoenix trades everyone for draft picks and filler. We are rebuilding like an expansion team.

Trade Robert (sell our first round pick again, no wait even better, put two together and give them away with a player) Sarver but it is too late, his damage has been done.

David Lee will be extended for less than what Diaw makes and Diaw isnt even in the same class.

In all fairness, when Stoudemire is out...

Diaw was worth the 9 Million a year he is getting.

He puts up 15-7-6 and very aggressive and versatile during those times.
