Cardinals should hire a new head coach by Tuesday and keep the check book open to get the best coordinators and assistants possible before the well drys up.

There are a lot of options on the offensive side Stefanski, Kitchens, Zac Taylor, Hue Jackson (don't @ me), Bill Lazor, DeFilippo as offensive assistant (not coordinator), stump mitchell, darell bevell etc. On the defensive side not many really outside of Bowles and Pettine.

So you think Reid is an idiot for making him coordinator this past season? Whatever his role, he’s a part of that chiefs high flying offense.
No because my guess would be that Reid pretty much calls the plays anyway and I never said Bieniemy is an incompetent coach but there has to be some reason why he couldn't advance past being a position coach for 15 of 17 years. But do you think that after 1 year as an OC he is qualified to be a head coach? We took a flyer on a 1 year DC and look where that got us. Just to point out, Bieniemy was passed over, twice, for OC of the Chiefs. Once by a guy who was out of football for 4 years.

I have no issues with Caldwell. I don't think he is a good coach, but he certainly isn't a bad one. Like Marvin Lewis for the Bengals, I can see the appeal to AZ.
Didn't Caldwell interview once before, either when during the search when Whisenhunt or Arians was hired? If so he seems to have a good relationship with the Cardinals.

I think we will start hearing about a couple more candidates being lined up for interviews after teams are eliminated this weekend. Just a hunch and no idea who but there are 8 teams playing this weekend that all had successful seasons no way do I expect the Cardinals to ignore those staffs.

Like I said, I bet the next coach is someone we're not talking about yet.

I don't think he brings anything "special" to the team. Probably a good guy and a good coach but I can't get excited about him as HC.

I don't believe this is going to be true.

Expect the hiring of one of these guys below next week:

Gase
KK
Campbell

I am surprised Matt LaFleur isn't getting more interviews.

I don’t know enough about his ability to say he is qualified. I was just questioning someone else’s ability to say he wasn’t. There’s a ton of conjecture in your post. A lot of coaches go years without certain opportunities. Does that mean they weren’t qualified? How many years and times was Arians looked over as a HC? Did that mean he wasn’t qualified? Kinda seems like he was despite having been passed over again and again. Maybe the same happened with bieniemy at the coordinator level, or maybe he’s Uber qualified but just had guys were slightly better than him in his way. Tough to argue that he was passed over for stiffs when he was preceded by Pederson and Nagy, right?

Why not Marvin Lewis in a Tom Coughlin role? Both as a hedge to Keim and guide an young head coach?

Sure there's conjecture. There's conjecture in everyone's posts about coaches, who they like, who they want, etc. Every journalist who ever writes an opinion piece is guilty of conjecture. That said, all I do is present the facts. Facts don't lie. Facts aren't conjecture. The fact is, Bieniemy was a running backs coach for 10 years before being given a coordinator spot at Colorado, a team that won 4 games in 2 years then came back as a running backs coach in the NFL and was passed over, twice, to be the OC after Pederson left for Philly with one guy, Childress, was out of football 4 years before being brought in for 1 season. Don't get me wrong, Bieniemy has done a wonderful job as a RB coach but there's got to be a reason why it took so long for him to become an OC in the NFL. Again, these are the facts, not conjecture.

And, therefore, there are cumulative reasons why he is now an O-C and why some will give him consideration for a higher post.

There are no shortage of coaches with long resumes who were passed over time after time before getting the ultimate gig.

I seem to recall that there were more than a few who said Arians didn't qualify, using much the same 'facts'.

P.S - He's not my pick. I proudly stand with K-9 and the claymore wielding scion of Scotia by way of N-O.
