This will help a ton with keeping Juke healthy and also having someone who can actually play RB in there when Juke is out.

It's always good to have speed out of the backfield. It spells the end for either Taylor or Hughes.

I feel a lot better about our RB situation now. A healthy Ellington, CJ and David Johnson. I'll take it!

Do Not. Do Not. Do Not like this signing at all.

I can picture him already dancing unnecessarily behind the LOS.

If only AE & DJ didn't hurt their hamstrings early, smh.

It'll be Ted Ginn all over again.

But I'll root for him since he's a Cardinal.

I'd rather make the move now that be passive about the RB situation.

Love that it finally happened. Willing to bet if he (and AE) stays healthy, this will be the best rushing year the cards have had in a long time if not ever

What's not to like? It adds depth to a position in which, quite frankly, this team lacks. He's not coming in to replace anyone who deserves to be on the roster, and he's still a solid back with big play ability.

No on is doing cartwheels because we landed CJ, but you have to at least admire this team's sense of urgency when it realizes a deficiency at a position of need.

I'm happy and hopeful about the latest Johnson joining the team.

Another speedster added to the arsenal, and a RB that has had great success in the NFL.

For what is out there, it is a very very good move. Guy is hardly ever injured and a good match to Ellington's skill match!

I like the signing. Just In case we have any injuries we have three good backs. He got exactly what I thought he would get to. Two mil a year.

I agree, Cardiac. I'm looking forward to seeing him put points on the board. A lot of them.

Welcome to the Birdgang, CJ!

GOOD days to be a Cards' fan...

We see...we evaluate...WE GO AFTER! Doesn't mean it will always work out but I'll take "trying" over "thumb-twidling" any day.

Mark :)

Exactly... BASK is tremendous in this way. They are keenly aggressive, attacking and adding when and where they deem necessary. On top of everything else they do so well, I couldn't be any happier.
Who knows, CJ could be totally washed up. Or, he could be a complete malcontent in the locker room... Or, he could do a Dansby or a Cromartie, and provide solid value in an area where we very much need it! ;)

What I like is that we now have three guys who should be interchangeable during a game (when all are healthy) to keep the pedal to the metal and if one or two are banged up, we have a 3rd we can lean on.

We could also run more two back sets and have one of the three still resting.

I also like the fact that CJ should be able to contribute early in the season, and that's something we might not get from David Johnson because of all the time he's missed.

Now we have Williams, Hughes, Grice, Lasike, and Taylor fighting for one or two spots. The rest are merely insurance for if any of the top guys get a major injury in camp/preseason. CJ's arrival should help make a decision to keep 4 RB's easier to make.

Now for that 4th, do we keep a guy with more power, of a 4th scheme back? My guess would be likely a more powerful back like Hughes or Lasike. Taylor, Grice, and Williams should be sweating bullets now.

Grice & Lasike (who I like) are toast...

Here in Nashville Johnson had the reputation that some take the money and run while some take the money and stop.

As long as he's dancing for 4 yards when he touches the ball, I'm fine with it.
