The first teams, O and D, did not play that well though and that is concerning. Not sharp today, mental errors.

ya 1st team did look out of it

Fitzgerald looked bad tonight dropped everything thrown to him, I almost would say he got dumped, or bad news or something he looked totally not himself.

Macklin was awful and Warner wasn't sharp at all although someone was totally missing their pickups all night.

For some reason, I'm not really too concerned. In years past, the Cards would've gotten rolled facing all the adversity they faced in the first half. I'd like the offense to look better, but it's obvious it's not hopeless. They showed just enough spark to not look completely inept.

1st string D looked flat too. Dockett looked like he stayed up too late last night.

The only thing I saw that concerned me is that Warner didn't do well against exactly the type of D everyone will throw at him until he beats it.

That could be by design it's just preseason and why show anything special now but I seriously hope they have secret plans to counter what KC did to him because if not that's all he will see.

We didn't do the most basic things to difuse the blitzes i.e quick drops and slant routes. And I think that could of been by design to see how the line could hold up to blitzing. I am postive you are going to see those two things this season to counter the heavy blitzes teams throw at Warner.

The pass protection will improve once Ross and Step return. If we still have problems once those two return for a couple of games. Then yes, time to get worried.

Also, we hardly blitzed at the start of the game. We only started blitzing in response to the stuff they where throwing at us. The D where somewhat slow to start, but held up their end of the bargin. Dick Vermiel was pretty quick to point out that those pass interference calls where more important to the drives than what their own offense was doing on the field.

I certainly agree that tonight's performance was not adequate. I do think we have the personnel on offense to get better. With a new QB and new OC, some stinkers are bound to happen.

"..And in this corner.."

What about the possibility that KC has a better, atleast more Experienced Offense [at this point] than Cards. It looks like the First Team got socked in the mouth; did it shake them up, or just piss them off all those penalties

Yes , this is preseason and I do not think Cards are yet to show there counter blitz schemes.
What I liked tonight.

Cards 1St DL did very well. No blitzing and still put on a good rush, on one of the best, if not the best OL in the NFL.
KC 's OL is better any in the WEST.

The TD pass to Q! I know called backed, but who cares. That's a preveiw folks!

AN AWAY VICTORY! That's the most important.

Pace of course

Lee is starting to show up.

Shelton looked good.

The SHIPMAN is BACK.
