Yes. Urban has said that, Wolfley too. The League Office closes at 4 pm ET. That is 1 pm AZ Time. We have to let the League Office know that he is cut by that time or else Kolb will be on our team on Saturday, at which point he is owed $7 M.

Don't forget about daylight savings time. 4 PM EST should be 2 PM Arizona time (it would be 1 PM if we were on DST).

No, 40, it will be 1pm here because we didn't move our clocks up one hour.

9:35

Hopefully, we've all learned to "minus three" from EST now.

we are out of the race. If Manning was going to announce today, either he would be flying to Arizona or we would be going there. Such announcements are usually done with the team. Unless, the Cards don't mind paying Kolb and keeping him around for a year. The assumption of Kolb being cut may not be valid.

This has always puzzled me and Chopper and I have had discussions about it in the past. What were the Cardinals thinking making such a huge investment in a guy who had spent 4 years in an offense reportedly totally foreign to what the Cards were running?

Terrible professional scouting, and poor decisions on free agent acquisitions. Same issues with the Bradley signing.

Pulling out of the Manning sweepstakes when he hasn't told us no is ludicrous. It would be a 'cardinal' decision.

Show the world you really want Manning, and cut Kolb.

Time didn't run out because of Kolb. Time would be running out because we felt like we needed to keep Kolb for idiot reasons. Kolb isn't worth his contract period. He should be cut regardless.

I still have a feeling that we were/are the favorites. But Manning wants to go through the process, and the other teams knowing they can squeeze a competitor out by stalling, have been stalling.

The media wants more visits. The other teams want more visits. As soon as the Cards are out, suddenly the other teams will be 'in a hurry'.

Trading for Kolb was a mistake
Signing Kolb to such a contract was a mistake
Taking ourselves out of the Peyton Manning sweepstakes OURSELVES because of Kolb and his Billy Bob concussions (varsity blues) is another mistake.

We've already made two big mistakes with Kolb.
But taking ourselves out of the Manning sweepstakes and paying Kolb would be an even bigger mistake.

If the front office allows anything or anyone other than PM tell us no, then the FO deserves all the negatives reviews from fans it gets. It may even cause him to tell us no, only because of a deadline, for which we might of been told yes had we not been in the Kolb situation.

Why are we letting Koncussion Kolb weaken our team? Because we choose to and no other reason.

They should be releasing Kolb now to make sure Peyton doesn't disqualify us because of Kolb (and not because of Peyton).

Sommers is calling it right.
My guess also - with one outside possibility - tha Cards pay Kolb the money and everything moves forward (including the Cards being still in the hunt). Whether or not the Cards have the money later on then becomes a matter of el bridgo-crosso.

One thing puzzles me - the workouts. Why would the Cards not be at a workout unless they had been eliminated. And if they were eliminated, why wouldn't the Cards or Manning say something one way or another to put Cardinal fans out of our misery?

What's to be gained for the Cards to be virtually invisible to the national and local media all day?

Something doesn't square.

My guess is that he hasn't ruled us out yet and we're trying to figure out our next move.

Don't think I would say it like that but + 1.

No it doesn't. If we don't have a shot, why not announce it like they have with Miami?

I think it does square. There is no other logic behind the Cardinals not being at the workout.

Also, there was no "official" Miami is out from the Manning camp. Just media reports. So, I doubt the Cards would get one either.
