The writer should know what he is talking about before he actually goes to print with it.GB TRADED for Favre from Atlanta.Plus he seems to act like NE knew Brady was a stud with their late round pick of him.Why can't Navarre be successful then? THe author gets a :stupid: .

The fact remains most playoff teams have QB's they drafted not ones they traded for. There is a good reason for this and it does not take much to figure it out. As the man says you do not often trade a winning QB. The last time we had a run of decent QB's was in the 60's with Jim Hart, Charlie Johnson and Lomax later on who's carreer ended early. I think we drafted them all. Hart was a late pick out of Southern Ill. With the signing of Warner I doubt we will draft a QB this year unless it is very late and they want to just take a shot.

So Neil Lomax was not a good QB? I wonder what constitutes good in Gambo's mind? That is if he has a mind.

I think we took Lomax in the 2nd or 3rd round of the draft. We had a good draft that year and I think we received a grade of A from the Sporting News. You can always point to exceptions but generally speaking the teams with the better QB's draft them and generally they do not trade them. Regardless of whether they were drafted low or high they were drafted and if they pan out they stay put. It is hard to argue that point as statistics prove it.

While Lomax was a good QB, he did never get the team into the playoffs and for many that would have been a minimum requirement. There is a big "what if" in the season he was injured, but it is still a "what if".

Gambo may have been off in some of his details, but I still agree with the gist of what he is trying to say and that is if the Cardinals want to be a year after year contender they need to draft a dominant QB and have some stability at that position. There are many on this board that have been saying the exact same thing and it isn't the least bit idiotic.

Got to agree with you. You get dominant QB's primarly through the draft.

But dominant QBs don't win a lot of Super Bowls......

WE have two kids right now that were drafted by us on our Roster. MCCown I believe was a third round pick and may yet lead a team to ?? Navarre is young only one year who knows what that will bring. We drafted Rosey in the supplemental draft and he would have been great but he got hurt. Then there was another kid who we draftted in the first round refused to play for us , turned out to be a head case and I believe ended his short NFL stay with Denver or Seattle.

Yes just like the IDIOT said we never do nothing about the QB position Lomax was a bum they all were bums. Heck I remember this guy calling Jake a Bum and he has been to the playoffs twice. If it wasn't for this kinda talk Jake might still be ??????, They don't pay enough money, they wont sign a running back, they are the worst team owners in the world of pro sports. This what he spits out. Go back to your Yankees please.

In Green we trust

I think the major point he is making is you get big time QB's primarly though the draft. I think that is indisputable. That being said we will have at some point have to draft a QB who can be a go to QB. Chances are slim we will ever get one though FA. As he said we have gone though a long list of QB's which is very much a part of our losing ways. The last really good QB I remember was Jim Hart. I think one season we won 10 games and still did not make the playoffs with Hart playing. I liked Lomax and he was good but not great. He did not play long enough to be labeled great or have the record to support it. He is be best we have had since he left for what ever that is worth. I do not know the facts but I suspect we have gone though more QB's in the last 15 years than any team in the NFL.

Montana, Elway, Aikman....

Sure, there are a few, but many more that don't. And it is even harder to do now, in the salary cap era. A prime QB like Manning just eats up too much of your cap.
