I think you're really missing the point. I'm sure the Cards could've made a smarter trade, for a better QB who has legit starting experience & long term potential...Mike Glennon!!!

I'm sorry but BASK drop the ball on this one big time:bang::doi:
But what if Glennon was not made available? I know there were rumors around draft time but, iirc, TB wanted a 2nd round pick for him. I think the Cards upgraded their roster with this move at very little, if any, expense.

Logan Thomas is, and has been, garbage. Don't let a good half against car salesmen and insurance agents cloud your judgment.

I'll take Barkley over LT in any QB scenario. I think BA knows, and he endorsed the move, way more than any of us when it comes to whether Barkley is "his type" of QB.

I'll agree with all of that 100% but I wonder why Barkley over a better proven Glennon?

This does IMO signal LTs end in the desert. :D

IMO he's worth a 2nd or 3rd & there's really zero reason for Tampa to accept that offer given JW is wearing orange. That dude has BAs offense written all over his name.

And upgrade over LT I agree.

I like Glennon much better also. But I don't even know who the other QB is on TB's roster and I'm sure they want at least some insurance to possibly win if Jameis goes down. Plus, Glennon, while he doesn't really have much say, probably wouldn't want to go to the Cards and be the #3.

I could still see Glennon being on the Cards sometime down the road.

Sorry, but Logan Thomas was Ryan Lindley part II. Looks great against 3rd stringers, but has no place playing against starters. I remember falling in love with Preston Parsons in pre-season as well.

I think Barkley is a clear upgrade and I'll take him at age 24.

My personal opinion is that this trade was made as an insurance policy if Logan Thomas or Phillip Sims don't make it to the practice squad.

I hate this move because to me it's more than giving up a potential 7th rd pick, it also means that LT was a wasted 4th rd pick. Barkley has stank it up this preseason and too many believe his has a noodle arm.

I had hopes that LT would continue to develop and turn all those incredible athletic skills into a franchise QB. I don't believe we carry 3 QB's on the roster and another one on the PS so it appears LT and Sims are both gone.

I think Barkley was a 4th round pick also. I look at it as we actually got a guy who may be able to play QB for the 4th round waste that was Thomas.

Btw, let's put the myth to rest that he a noodle arm. Just because an Eagle fan thinks it, doesn't make it so. He may not have a cannon but he has plenty of arm strength/ball speed to make all the throws at the NFL level.

I wouldn't hate that move. Give me a 4th for him and I'm happy

No way Stanton is getting traded. Well unless a team does offer a 4th rounder then.........nope, not happening. We got Palmer for a 7th rd pick so how does Stanton carry 4th rd value?

BASK is all about winning right now so trading away Stanton makes zero sense to me. Barkley is reported to be smart but no way he gets up to speed on BA's offense and timing with the WR's as a back up.

Lets face it, even our coach doesn't expect Palmer to last the season. I still don't expect him to make it all the way through our first game. Just have this feeling as stated in the poll.

FWIW he got a 30 on the Wonderlic. Carson got a 26. He may be from Newport Beach, but he's not a hippie dippy airhead rich-kid surfer type. His family is middle-class values and he's been raised to be work-service oriented.

He had a shoulder separation at USC and never seemed to have as strong an arm after.

Coming out of HS people thought he had a good to very good arm, coming out to the NFL arm strength was listed as questionable by most.

He is not a great player but he's a smart kid, you won't have to take away 2/3 of the offense if you have another disaster and have to play your #3 QB. He'll pick up the offense.

He does surf or did when he was younger, but I agree he's a smart kid.

All positive stuff but it took Palmer half a year to stop throwing picks non stop in BA's offense and that was with OTA's and TC. My point remains that they are not trading Stanton because we picked up Barkley.

I do appreciate the info on Barkley and of course I have to give BASK the BOD on this.

Logan should never have been drafted - sorry- I've gone for awhile but my opinion remains the same. Sims was nice with upside - Barkly has a chance in BA's system. upgraded all of them just watch. Just didn't fit iggles system!
