Carson Palmer out for the year ugh

CP is a great Cardinal, will see if he is back by the end of the season - hope so - so he can retire on his own terms unlike boomer esiason our other Bengal QB. The way I remember it he threw for an NFL record 522 yards in a Cardinal game and the GM benched him so he would not reach his incentive bonus.

I was at that game. It was @ Washington. We were trailing by 2 touchdowns most of the game, so all we did was pass. Crazy game that we pulled out late that we had no right to win.

To be fair, Stanton has thrown about 500 passes in his NFL career, Gabbert over 1200. Gabbert has been given a starting job twice and lost it, he's a pretty known quantity too unless you just mean in this offense.

I agree Gabbert is a long shot. You’re likely more familiar with the day-to-day Niners situation, but no one could have developed in Jax. Literally the surrounding cast was horrible. I don’t think they’ve got much to lose. I recall Gabbert looked decent in college and had tools. In my mind Stanton’s top is backup.

I agree Gabbert is a long shot. You’re likely more familiar with the day-to-day Niners situation, but no one could have developed in Jax. Literally the surrounding cast was horrible. I don’t think they’ve got much to lose. I recall Gabbert looked decent in college and had tools. In my mind Stanton’s top is backup.

I think Gabbert has more talent I'm guessing Arians trusts Stanton more in HIS offense because he knows it. I do hope at some point we see Gabbert get a few starts but I don't expect much.

in 2015 he played 8 games for the 49ers, I think he started 7 of those might have been all 8. He had his best year ever, first time over 60%, best TD to INT ratio(10-7) but it was still very apparent he just wasn't an NFL starter. His year playing for Harbaugh was pretty telling that was a very QB friendly offense it was run based and he was not asked to win games just don't lose them. 8 games he put up decent numbers but he didn't make big plays and he appeared very risk averse. Maybe that was the coaching who knows.

But he has the size, he can move, and he's got a strong enough arm so it would be good to see him get a few starts here to see if he can play in Arians' system that is the opposite of risk averse.

Stanton is a good back up till the day he has to play
the guy is horrible
Recently got even worse, with completation percentage under 40%
Collecting paychecks and should give 50 per cents to his uncle Bruce

He takes far less sacks than Kaepernick did in the same offense(dramatically less) but that Gabbert was not taking any risks at all and was not standing in the pocket to get the ball downfield he was just dumping the ball off or running. Maybe that's precisely what Harbaugh told him to do after all the sacks and turnovers CK was producing, who knows, but that's apparently what the Bears thought of Gabbert.

The easiest solution would be to tailor your O to the players you have! BA is acting like Whiz with his ******** system. Adjust be creative, thought you were supposed to be an offensive genius? Put Gabbert in and show the world you can actually coach because your job is on the line!

We won't have to wait for Stanton strolling along suckville to get on the bench (which by the way is not possible under Arian's objective opinion) because Drew is not half as tough as Palmer. Drew is also mind boggling in the fact that in college he would move often in the pocket and scramble and now just sits there for all those who think he going to be more mobile... we will see the Gab, who is pretty damn tough, and accurate except for the fact his reaction time has always been too slow to keep up with his thoughts in my opinion
