Ain't gonna happen. But if it did the cards are instant Super Bowl contenders.

If Manning is released I doubt he would sign with the Cardinals. I could see him signing with a team like the Dolphins, Jets or Texans.

Why waste time posting on a thread that we're wasting our time on? I mean really? :mulli:

To let you know how your wasting your time. Its the friendly thing to do no matter how much time I have to waste doing it. ;)

Why even waste your time talking about this? I mean really? Do any of you even think there is a snowballs chance in hell of this occurring? I mean really?

Whats the chance of the following:

1. get out of the Kolb contract
2. Manning is healthy
3. Manning signs with the Cardinals
4. we get a solid offensive line to protect him
5. we get to the SuperBowl with manning throwing rainbows to Fitz along the way.

It's fun to dream though.

What would be absolutely fascinating would be how much Peyton would wrest the offense away from the coaches---similar in some respect as to how Kurt Warner did---because no one on the planet understands how to beat a defense better than Peyton Manning.

As pie-in-the-sky kind of things go, this one isn't all that far fetched. The long shot part of this has to do with his health and whether Indy would actually release him. Once he's free to decide his own fate, we'd have to be one of the 5 or 6 front runner destinations for him.

I agree that it is extremely improbable, but when your team is brought up on an NFL pregame show as a possible spot for Peyton Manning, how can you not talk about it?

I am all for it. However, this is a big risk because Manning is probably one big hit away from retiring even when he comes back. That means this team needs to get rid of dead weight on the line....*cough*...Brown.

In the same way he's mentored all of his other backups? LOL Not gonna happen.

You don't think he has mentored the young QBs behind him? Its not his fault that none of them had any talent. Indy has never had a young QB for him to mentor, they had all the cash tied to him and never spent any on their back-ups. They were talking today about Andrew Luck would do well to be drafted by Indy and they keep PM for him to learn under for a year. So some people in the know seem to think he can and will.

If Manning is released he's not gonna get the $28 mil he had coming from the Colts. IMO he'd take a deal similar to the one Warner walked away from which was pretty outrageous.

Why would he come here:

1. Great weather, indoor stadium, same for rest of division.
2. Cards need a QB.
3. All world wideout to throw to.
4. Cards seem like a team that is a Pro Bowl QB away from being really good.
5. Cards would probably bend to any demands he made, some other teams might not.

I'd bet my house that the Colts will release Manning. Why wouldn't the Cards waive Kolb and go after him? Where else would he go that would be a better fit?

Knowing the Cards luck, he will come here and then we'll find out after it's too late that he's not healthy and can't play. He'll sting us along for a while building up false hope then retire, leaving us screwed with nothing, and we'll be forced to take Leinart back.

Loved being mentioned as a possibility, but the misses cracked me up when she looked over at me and said, "Manning's neck will be protected by Levi-freaking-Brown."

Can you imagine for a moment the media attention we would get? No doubt at least 2 monday or Sunday night games and a spotlight on us every week.

Not to mention every game being a no doubt sell out throught the season before opening day.

Add Pierre Garcon(sp) and it could be 2008 all over again.

That being said, fugget about it.

So you think it's possible?

Possible??...yes.....Likely?? Absolutely not!

Actually, I am a small minority that thinks the Colts will keep Manning, and trade away the rights to Andrew Luck..(not on crack, I swear it)

there were too many ties...including a Polian on the Stanford coaching staff....my guess is ownership found out the staff bought in to "suck for Luck" and proceeded to do just that...and in order to avoid league repercussions should it become known, the irsay's canned management, and are currently investigating further to see how much the coaching staff was involved.....whom thy will likely can as well soon.

so they trade the rights to Luck for a whole stack of picks, then trade a bit more to end the day with multiple first rounders this year....and try to make another run or three behind the arm and mind of Peyton Manning.

......but we are Cards fans...the off season is our time....the one time of year we can actually discuss the possibility that a true first ballot hall of fame QB...possibly the best QB to ever play the game...may just play for us next year. in all honesty, if they do release Manning...Arizona is one of the better places he could hope to land....as our defense has shaped up...and a mediocre running game has developed...Manning in the backfield, IMO....puts us in the SB again. Maybe a few times....

Interesting, I hadn't really thought of it that way. I still doubt they throw away Andrew Luck though, not after they struck gold with Peyton Manning (and let's not forget John Elway, who simply refused to play there).

I have serious doubts Manning would want to play here. It's really hard for me to imagine. Yes, our D is actually better than the Colts, and we have Fitz, and...? Well, we have Fitz. The dude just came off what still-may-be career ending neck surgery, the last thing any sane person would want to do in that situation is put his creaky neck behind our offensive line.

He had a stacked, all-pro offensive line in Indy. He had more receivers and a TE to throw to than we currently have, by far. I just don't see it. I wish, I mean, man do I wish, but I just don't see it.
