Never happen cause Levi won't be in a Cards uniform & neither will Manning :D

People have really lost their mind on this Casserly BS!

Let's see...pay an injured QB whose career may never ever resume as an NFL QB because of a neck injury, boatloads of $$$ before you even know if he can even play at all & team him up with a suspect Oline! :bang: Makes sense...not!!! I guess the only thing that may make that reality is we gave a Kolb a boatload of $$$ not knowing how good/bad he was. I put the chances at .000000001%

Possible??...yes.....Likely?? Absolutely not!

Actually, I am a small minority that thinks the Colts will keep Manning, and trade away the rights to Andrew Luck..(not on crack, I swear it)

there were too many ties...including a Polian on the Stanford coaching staff....my guess is ownership found out the staff bought in to "suck for Luck" and proceeded to do just that...and in order to avoid league repercussions should it become known, the irsay's canned management, and are currently investigating further to see how much the coaching staff was involved.....whom thy will likely can as well soon.

so they trade the rights to Luck for a whole stack of picks, then trade a bit more to end the day with multiple first rounders this year....and try to make another run or three behind the arm and mind of Peyton Manning.

......but we are Cards fans...the off season is our time....the one time of year we can actually discuss the possibility that a true first ballot hall of fame QB...possibly the best QB to ever play the game...may just play for us next year. in all honesty, if they do release Manning...Arizona is one of the better places he could hope to land....as our defense has shaped up...and a mediocre running game has developed...Manning in the backfield, IMO....puts us in the SB again. Maybe a few times....

I'm thinking you may need a drug test ASAP oaken ;)

I would be super psych'd if Manning's career wasn't over; I don't think he will be cleared to play again...

Great point and one nobody wants to talk about, certainly not the Colts. Have there been other players, Quarterbacks, with this injury who came back to play? All I can think of is Gus Ferrote headbutting the stadium and taking himself out of the game.

Manning is probably going to be a free agent before March 1. The Cards would have the money to make him a nice offer after they waved Kolb.

I don't know if Manning can play at the same level or not but I'd like to see him hooking up with Fitzgerald for a couple of years.

This, Manning could demand to be released by the Colts if they don't trade the #1 for plenty of picks.

I read that Manning was really tight with the front office people they let go. No way they pay Manning $28 mil for one season. He's gonna be a free agent.

If not here then where will he go?

1. Manning will be 36 in March
2. Everyone is seeing the success Green Bay has had with the Farve to Rodgers transition
3.Manning has reworked his contract to help the team in the past.

Manning is staying in Indy. The Colts are drafting Andrew Luck who will sit for 2-3 seasons and then take over for Peyton. All this of course is greatly aided by the new rookie wage scale.

Honestly. Can we, for once, get one these elite quarterbacks when they are in their early-to-mid twenties and have a clean bill of health??

Peyton will be 36 at the start of next season. He has had multiple neck surgeries. This is a very risky signing, especially when you consider the current state of our offensive line. He will take a beating, and even if given clearance by doctors to play again, I still have my reservations on his ability to stay healthy.

Signing him would be like getting a Ferrari and carrying cut-rate auto insurance.

I know the prospect of signing Peyton Manning is magnificent, but it comes with major red flags.

If Manning is released he's not gonna get the $28 mil he had coming from the Colts. IMO he'd take a deal similar to the one Warner walked away from which was pretty outrageous.

Why would he come here:

1. Great weather, indoor stadium, same for rest of division.
2. Cards need a QB.
3. All world wideout to throw to.
4. Cards seem like a team that is a Pro Bowl QB away from being really good.
5. Cards would probably bend to any demands he made, some other teams might not.

I'd bet my house that the Colts will release Manning. Why wouldn't the Cards waive Kolb and go after him? Where else would he go that would be a better fit?

Especially agree with those. I don't know why most everyone thinks there is no chance of this. There is. Would I bet on it? No. But it COULD happen. Who else is he going to go to? Do NOT underestimate the fact that we have #11, that we play in a dome, with a good defense. Was our line any good when we had Warner back there? NO. Great QBs make the O-line look a LOT better.

Here's more reasons why he might consider coming to AZ.

1. The Superbowl appearance made us NOT the same old Cardinals.
2. A call from Kurt Warner saying this isn't so bad a place to be.
3. We were 8-8 with WHO at QB? You think Peyton doesn't think he might be a slight improvement on those two guys.

Manning can't be happy that they won't trade the pick for a number of picks/players that can further help him win there. THat team needs a lot more than just Manning coming back.

No. I think Peyton wants to hold his wife and kids after he retires. Pretty sure he'd like to take them to amusement parks-n-crap without being confined to a wheelchair. No way he looks at AZ and our offensive line and says yes, I put my neck and my family in the hands of Russ Grimm and his offensive line, who have done such a masterful job the past few seasons. It won't happen. He'd have to be insane.

and the only way we get one of those young elite is through the draft unless you get a Drew Brees by luck as the Saints, because people do not get rid of elite youth at the position

I dont see why its that farfetched for these reasons:

1. I think hed really appreciate playing with a hall of famer Larry, and a hall of fame person
2. I think he likes playing for a smaller market city.
3. Good weather
4. Cards have real potential

Where else would he go?

Jets - doubt it, doubt they would pay him either.
Seattle - Cards have a lot more to like than SEA
Baltimore? Doubt it

I dont know where else, everyone else filled vacancies with some good rookies this year

If that's the case, then he needs to just retire RIGHT NOW! No matter how good any OL might be, QBs are going to take hits. If he's that fragile, he needs to call it a career and start enjoying his life and family, because there's not a team in the league that can guarantee he won't take a serious hit or re-injure his neck.

I haven't really known Casserly to just toss out crap.

I would love it for one reason besides "being the favorite"

...people would pay to see that team and there wouldn't be so many damn opposing fans in the stadium all the time.

Absolutely agree. If Payton is released by the Colts and is healthy enough to play again, the Cards will have a leg up on just about every other NFL team. The QB position is wide open and they have a young great prospect in Skelton for Manning to work with. On top of that, there is Fitz, Heap and some young hungry receivers that a Manning could very well make into stars. Top that with a defense much better than he had with the Colts, warm weather to soothe his old bones and an offense he will have a lot of say in running and you have the perfect situation for him.

I'm not sure Manning is capable of running Whiz's offensive scheme. :D

The system works. :D

Fast Forward: "Manning's just leaving too many plays on the field and not making the plays that are there for him. Sure, he had a couple of free blitzers on that play, but he didn't check down to his hot read, that will come with time, he just needs more experience in the system."

Disagree. I think the NYJ would be the most ideal place for him to go.

For starters, the Jets I believe would pay the man. Sanchez, IMO, has proven to be expendable. They have a formidable offensive line. And finally, he'd be living in New York next to his brother. Plus, imagine the endorsement deals he'd get. Peyton will advertise anything and everything.

I still haven't picked that lane yet, what I'm saying is if, given the choice, he'd probably pick a team with a better offensive line. 'Spose I could have just said that without the smartassery, but then I wouldn't be me.

If he was getting all those ad deals while living in Indianapolis, what makes you think he couldn't get them living in the 5th largest city in the US (Phoenix)?
