On the CBS pregame show, Charlie Casserly was talking about Manning's future and he said not to count out the Cards, who could get out of the Kolb contract, as a destination for Manning.
I don't think there is anything there but interesting that the only team he mentioned as a possible landing spot for Manning was the Cards.

Been waiting for someone to post this. :)

Yeah, I don't see it happening, but hearing someone speculate about it certainly made me smile.

Hard to imagine how the finances for that would work.....

btw... Mannings neck wouldn't be the only thing broken behind our current Oline

I saw that. No way we could keep Cambell but if Peyton Manning's neck is okay it's worth checking into. I'd draft tackles and guards with our first 3 picks lol.

Manning is probably going to be a free agent before March 1. The Cards would have the money to make him a nice offer after they waved Kolb.

I don't know if Manning can play at the same level or not but I'd like to see him hooking up with Fitzgerald for a couple of years.

I don't think they can print up #18 jerseys fast enough if this happened. Peyton is no where near done and I'd take him in a country second.

That is if we still had any picks left after that trade. I don't think there is anyway the Cards will pay PM his current contract though. If he is healthy I would trade our entire draft for him, and that probably still doesnt save us enough to pay his contract.

Not sure if Indy could trade him as I am not sure what the cap ramifacations would be for them.

Would be incredible if he is okay to play. Wow. Peyton to Fitzgerald.

I doubt the Colts cut or trade him at all though.

I'm not sure it would involve a trade since the Colts have to pay Peyton $28M by March 8th or release him. Of course, there's the matter of Manning surviving behind our O-line...

I am all aboard this kind of thinking. I could care less what anyone says about the situation.

If the Cardinals have the opportunity to sign Peyton Manning, then they should do it, and go after the situation aggressively.

Manning would make this current squad a Super Bowl contender.

Peyton Manning playing with Larry Fitzgerald would be unfair.

He has survived behind much, much worse.

If we could get Manning due to his release and keep all our picks, trade what it would take to move up and get Kalil......

I don't think a trade is going to be an option for the Colts. That bonus that's due to Manning would make him untradeable to most teams, his questionable health makes it way too much of a gamble.
The only way Manning is going anywhere other than Indy is if the Colts release him. At that point, it comes down to where he wants to play and who wants to pay him.

Why even waste your time talking about this? I mean really? Do any of you even think there is a snowballs chance in hell of this occurring? I mean really?

A trade might be an option for another reason:

If we dealt Kolb for Manning even-up, we could shed Kolb's salary burden as part of the deal.

With Manning mentoring Skelton, we wouldn't need Kolb and would have maneuvered our way out of a sticky box.

Peyton's health remains a huge issue, though, and the Cardinal medical staff would trump Wiz, Rod and Steve K as Cardinal front office MVP's.

Financially, both teams have financial burdens they'd have to eat, but that actually might be what makes a deal like that plausible.
