I've spent the afternoon looking at other team's forums and it's funny how almost everyone is the same...."we're terrible, what are we doing!?"

I for one am not giving up on our team during the first game of the season.
Good for you. I'm sure you noticed the other irrationally optimistic guys on their forums, too.

Coming away with nothing is worse.

I didn't like the drop back pass on that play either. A quarterback rollout with the option to pass would have been better.
Not just coming away with nothing, but also giving mahomes the ball in excellent field position.

Better luck in 2027 after the Keim, Kingsbury, and Murray extensions.

Kyler's made a couple of mistakes not seeing the blitz, throwing the 4th down away but honestly with our WR situation, injured TE's and the OL being so bad today I think he played pretty well.

The defense has been so bad you just feel you have to score a TD every time you get the ball

Dortch stumbled. Idiotic play call either way.
The play call was actually good, motion man went unnoticed underneath. Dortch was wide open but stumbled. Would’ve likely gone for 15 yds or so. Murray didn’t throw it because he thought Dortch was falling down. Then Murray unable to find another receiver.
Poor execution by Dortch. Stars don’t stumble in this situation, that’s why they are stars.
This play would’ve given the Cardinals a 1st down around the 25.

I don’t know how some of you disagree with going for it on 4th. Cards D can’t stop KC. Cards O have to score TD’s. A FG isn’t going to do ****. D couldn’t stop a score with sub 60 seconds.

That 4th down play was perfect except Dortch stumbling. There was no one to stop the TD if he doesn’t stumble.

Neither is anyone else. But the reactions to the dreck displayed so far have been earned by the cards by their play on the field, no?

It's was a pretty poor 4th down play all from Kliff
I think it was actually a great play call and good execution, just really unlucky that Dortch lost his footing going through the traffic. Kyler was waiting for Dortch to regain his balance and looked back but the past rush came which left him with no time. One thing that could have saved the play was if Conner have kept running forward after seeing Kyler start to scramble. But it's season-opening so their mind is probably not there yet. Dortch had a similar play earlier that he did not extend the route to give the scrambled Kyler a throwing lane.

Lol more people should take the rest of the day off, if you expected the Cards to somehow dominate KC with all our injuries and guys missing while playing no preseason games not sure what to say!
I didn't expect them to "dominate" - just showing up and playing like they were actually prepared and showing some heart would have been fine. But no, they look completely lost - unprepared, outcoached, out-hearted.

Also think with all the WR injuries not having Edmonds hurt us, I think Conner was the only RB who played so we didn't have that run or catch threat RB on 3rd down that Chase gave us. We were playing 3 or 4 WR's and that's why Kyler was getting so much pressure the only run threat was Kyler

Watch it again. That’s a TD all the way if he doesn’t stumble.

Just use this game to get ready for the season, you know kinda like we should have used a preseason game at least. At this point who cares if we get blown out get the timing and bugs out so we can not look like JV squad the rest of the season!
This is a weird take. Kinda like Brit’s “this game doesn’t matter” take.

No guarantee he makes it. Love the aggression. Need a TD or getting into chip shot range.
Exactly. Never say never. But this team has to keep up with mahomes at this point. Field goals get you squat. If your defense was showing you something..then that's different. Ours hasn't all game.

The correct take. Normally I’m “take the mf’n points”.

I think I'm more disappointed in the offense than defense.

I expected the defense to struggle but they have adapted and got better.

The offense outside of a single drive has done nothing. Kyler's stats are poor. I don't think any TE has had a target. Green hasn't had a target.

Its been poor.

Yeah the play call was good he just didn't keep his feet. the downside was basically everything was going right or deep middle so he could sneak under so when Kyler couldn't throw to him there wasn't really a safe option except heave it into the endzone and hope for a penalty.

The offense looking like last year’s second half offense is what sucks a golf ball through a hose for me.

I expected the D to be awful. The offense being so is a joke.

You’re right. But look what happens when you pass on the opportunity and your opposition doesn’t . . . 6 more points in the hole. Your “if’s” don’t count. The actual 3-6 point swing does.
