I figure if we score a few more points, keep games closer, see improvement as the season goes on and win at least 4 games, we'll be light-years ahead of last years debacle

I really like the fact that CK2 and Clements both have coached with the WR coach, David Raih.

The shared mental model that the concepts in the Air Raid demand is only going to be helped by this.

I will interested to see who else they bring in to coach WRs.

Thank goodness, they didn't hire Hue Jackson. I do like this move. He is 65 yrs and not going to want to be a HC. If they do well, you don't have to worry about him leaving. He has worked with both Farve and Rodgers. He can mentor KK. It is an excellent move.
Have to admit, I like the hire, he's won a super bowl, has plenty of experience as a QB, coached Favre & Rodgers & has called plays. Sounds better than all the others that were interviewed. Pretty smart move giving him the titles instead of calling him the OC since he isn't gonna call the plays anyway. Idk why more teams don't do this? Should've been done when BA was here instead of calling Byron leftwich OC.

We're Cardinal fans, we're supposed to buy. I've always been a koolaid drinker when it comes to the Cardinals. At least until the season starts & reality sets in. I thought we would be at least a 500 team last year. By halftime of the opener, I realized I was 100% wrong & we might be lucky to win 1-2 games. As far as entertainment is concerned, I'm 100% buying. I could care less at this juncture, if that entertainment results in W's. As unwatchable as they were, I turned off the TV (for the rest of the season) after the Rams game when we never went past the 50. I'll just be thankful if I can at least watch them again.
Same as you brother, I drink the kool-aide every yr, flight plan got me extremely excited only for reality to set in, well for most years except the Arians yrs. I knew after the first few series Wilkes was in over his head & we were gonna suck, I kept watching though on NFL Sunday ticket, not every minute of every game though like most seasons. After half the season I actually didn't want them to win, wanted the #1 pick, except against the packers, wanted to win that game badly.

The Packers had the third ranked scoring offense in 2016. Clement gets dismissed and they fall to 20th and then 14th in the next two years . I agree it's easier to have success with a Rodgers or a Favre but the coaching cant be minimized. I wont call this a great hire but it's certainly a solid one based on what they are looking for and what a guy like 2k needs .
wow, didn't realize his offense was ranked that high? He was the offensive coordinator there when we played in the playoffs then, still remember the hail Mary that Justin Bethel let get behind him & the shuffle pass to Larry Fitzgerald to win the game. That was a potent green bay offense. Color me impressed with the hire.

4 games? Last yrs team were a few plays away from winning 5 games, should've beat the bears, redskins & Seahawks so maybe 6? Yet last yrs team sucked. I'm hoping no worse than 8-8 & with a good draft & free agency I'm hoping for a worst to first. Even though the rams are elite right now, it only takes a few bad things here & there to change one teams fortune, every season is different. Not like the rams are the Steelers or patriots which are generally good every year.

Yeah 4 games, I don't play the "what ifs" after last year what I posted is what I'd be happy with, more than that I'd be ecstatic LOL

CK2 is quietly putting together a very good staff, or at least it seems very good compared to last season. :koolaid:

I hope you're right, but the ink is barely dry on their contracts, and we haven't seen them - as a unit - teach a technique, design a play, call a play or work together.

All in good time. Next on the agenda is free agency and the draft (& all the behind-the-scenes organizational work that goes into building a staff and culture).

It will be interesting to follow, but as of now, hoping trumps knowing.

Apparently Clements was highly regarded during his Green Bay tenure. Wonder why he left the Packers?

https://packerswire.usatoday.com/2019/01/19/cardinals-hiring-former-packers-assistant-tom-clements/

McCarthy picked Clements to be his first quarterbacks coach, a job he held for the Packers from 2006 to 2011. McCarthy twice promoted him, first to offensive coordinator in 2012 and later to assistant head coach in 2015.

Clements’ contract expired after the 2016 season and he left the Packers. He returns to the NFL two years later on the first staff assembled by new Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury.

Rodgers held Clements in high regard, both during his coaching tenure in Green Bay and after.

At the time Mike McCarthy announced it he said that “(Clements) is going to move to on to some other interests.” I don’t know what that means.
