Oscar Robertson is the only other player in his territory. Or shall I say, BG is the only other player in Robertson Territory. LBJ or Jordan never put up those numbers.

Lebron averages roughly 28/9/7/2/1 for his career in the playoffs.

In 2008/2009 Lebron averaged 35.3 9.1rpg 7.3apg 1.6spg 0.9bpg in 14 playoff games.

Oscar Robertsons numbers are invalid for comparison sake. They hare highly inflated by the pace of the game and lack of defense.

Clippers beat the Rockets without its best player on the road and nearly did it again tonight. LA is in much better shape than Chicago, who got emasculated by Cleveland tonight.

Cleveland is clearly the superior team to Chicago. Not sure Houston can say that about it versus LA. Chicago may feel happy, but they're about to get blitzed.

The guys said it after the game and I think its true, I don't think Chicago really cared about winning tonight. Their happy with their split, their gonna go home with home court advantage now. Even from the start, Bulls mailed it in. They gave up like 40 and were down 20 after the 1st QTR itself.

That said, I still think Cavs will win it in 6 or 7 games.

I think LA is clearly superior to Houston.

My gut feeling is that this series goes 7 games.

I just saw this on Highly Questionable....I would have been livid if one of the Phoenix Suns players had tried to pull of this hot dog move.

why was that a hot dog move. Had he finished it, he would have completely broken the defenders ankles and had a clear trip to the basket. he wasn't going anywhere into the middle of the D. He suckered the D in, just couldn't finish the play.

I was bit harsh, but I don't think that he needed to behind the back with is dribble. A simple crossover would have been effective in getting Austin Rivers to the basket.imo

Can't we say that about every move that didn't work?

This isn't the first time in the past 2 weeks that Rivers did something stupid something like this. His crossover has been cringe worthy in the NBA.

Gaudy numbers for sure for the 2008-2009 season. Good find. Bg still averaging more in all categories except for PPG and STs. factor in that BG is a big and is actually averaging more assist than his teammate, who was the regular season assist leader, and it makes it more amazing.

For the record, BG's numbers will settle as the playoffs go on.

But there is a GULF of difference between 25 ppg and 35 ppg. As for BG is a big... so is 6'9 250 pound LBJ.

agreed. but he's still playing insane ball. That said, he ain't playing at LeBron's level at Bron's peak, IMO. But that's not a slam. Pretty much no one played at that level for an extended period of time.

Besides Jordan...

His peak statistical season is a lot like LeBron's, 32.5-8-8, along with 3 steals and the defensive player of the year award. But he should probably be excluded because he may not have been human.

yeah... i don't really include Jordan in convos about mere mortals. Like Bird said: He was God in basketball shoes.

true. But the fact remains, BG and Robertson are the only players putting up those averages(overall stats). We can argue each individual stat but the averages media has pointed out, has validity.

Rivers has actually played pretty big at big moments so far. he's averaging 17 in this series and was a huge reason they won must win Game 4 in SA.

Why does Shaq keep saying "Hack-A-Shaq never works"? He gets so oversensitive about it too.

Did he forget the Spurs series in 2008 when Pop kept hackin him and we lost that series mainly because of that? Spurs had no answer for Nash or Amare so they kept foulin Shaq.

The following season, Pop even played a joke on Shaq by intentionally fouling him on the first play next season just to remind how awful a FT shooter he is.

man... I know the Rockets are pretenders, but the Clippers are putting them through the woodshed... like a true contender should.

I don't know if GS has what it takes to get past Memphis, but even if they do, the Clippers have a really solid shot to get to the Finals... and if they do...probably be favored to win.

I think the Clips or Warriors would be heavy favorites over whoever limps out of the East.

That must have been a gruesome game to watch... 63 FTs by the Clips, 34 of them by Jordan (missed 20). No OT and the game lasted 2:53. You could say the Rocks were beating a dead horse, except it was them that was dead.

Probably be the death knell of the Hack a' whoever tactic, which no one will mourn.

The first half viewing experience was on par with masturbating with a cheesegrater.

Looks like they're keeping their hands down and not reaching for the ball. That must such a hard thing to do because your natural instinct as a defender is to reach for that ball when's it's right in front of you.

This crap with the fouling intentionally is the worst thing ever in the NBA. I will not watch another game of this series. Totally ridiculous. Yeah guys, this is totally fun to watch for the fans. I hated it when it was hack a shaq and I still hate it, but this is a whole new level.Terrible to watch. Congrats to the Clippers, but I'm totally out for the rest of this series.

I see a rule change coming.
