There are people who have posted that there is no such thing as protection for Goldy in the #4 spot in the batting order, with which I have disagreed.

Despite Lamb's first half stats the past two seasons, he does not scare pitchers into pitching to Goldy. Goldy is going to be pitched around for the rest of him in his prime.

BTW, it's now 6-2 D-backs and Hirano is pitching the 7th.

I think it is more than just lefty-lefty strategy, but to show Archie how valuable he is without being the closer.
